Maybe that was badly phrased. In an item (like the Wookie Sage's Hood as I referenced) where there are multiple synth-cloth slots I can fill each of those slots with a synth cloth (myoflex or biosensors) - 1 cloth per slot - and the finished product will reflect a total of those bonuses from each cloth.

If I'm reading the above correctly, they're saying that the end product would reflect only one of those bonus, not the cumulative, and that's not correct.

Vazkoor - Wound/Injury Treatment is for medics. The one for entertainers is Dance/Music Healing.

Anyone can benefit from Bleed Defense or the Stun/Melee Defense items.

For Riflemen there is +Cover, but you'll find almost entirely lower bonuses on those because the advanced +Cover BE tissue uses mollusks (I think I'm remembering that correctly... Mollusks for +Cover, Milk for Taming, and eggs for the Dance/Music healing - those are the rare items).

Many also benefit from the Mask Scent tissues.

So if i want medic improvement and still be able to wear armor, my best bet would be :

Bandolier : +14 injury/wound treatment

Undershirt : +14 injury/wound treatment

Any taylor can make that on Kauri ? price ?

Thanks

Longport:

If what you're seeing is matching what I / others seem to be seeing, then for schematics that have multiple "cloth" slots, the outcome is this (SC = synth cloth, RFP = reinforced fiber panel . Whether the slot takes just 1, or requires a factory identical stack doesn't matter):

2 SC slots - Only get the bonus from 1 slot or the other
2 RPF slots - Only get the bonus from 1 slot or the other

SC slot + RFP slot - Get the bonuses from BOTH slots.

Based on feedback from the Devs, this is a limitation of the current coding, was recognized in advance as an issue that would exist with this release, and will hopefully be fixed in the future.

I don't know the Sage Hood's schematic requirements off the top of my head. Hang on...

Dang. Neither site has exactly what I was looking for. Apparently it takes 4 synth cloths, both I'm not clear on the number of slots - how many are singles and how many are stacks of factory identical ones.

But REGARDLESS, if there is more than 1 SC slot, and you're able to put + Injury/Wound Treatment in one slot, and Dance/Music Healing in a second slot, and get BOTH (all 4 skills) to show up in the final product, then that's new to me. Other similar schematics (ones that take a single SC in one slot and a stack of identical ones in a second slot) only give one bonus or the other.

Do I misunderstand things?
Am I misunderstanding Longport?
Was something just fixed (after the big patch - within the last few days)?
Is there something unique about the Wookie Sage's Hood schematic?

We'll get this straight yet, Yetilronfist!

Since the beginning when I first got access to synth cloth, I've been able to take cloths with the same skill boost, fill slots with them, and get the cumulative bonus.

Let's take an example of Wookie Sage's Hood withMyoflexsynth cloths. The schematic requires 4 (I think you're right, Yetil) synth cloths, one cloth per slot. I can put, for example: +4/+3 Dancing/Music Healing, +1/+2 Dancing/Music Healing, +1/+1 Dancing/Music Healing, and +6/+6 Dancing Music Healing in these slots, assemble and voila - I have a Sages hood with +12/+12 Dancing/Music Healing on it as represented in the details just before you choose the colors for the item and finish it.

I hope that clears things up. I have a feeling I'm just misunderstanding one of the original posts, but there you go. No "magic" on my side here, just what I've seen since I've been using the BE-altered cloths.

Longport,

It used to be that we could have 4 prototype synthetic cloths of the same enhancement go into one article of clothing and get a cumulative total. No longer the case, now only one cloth counts.

Have you made any of these items with 4 prototypes since the "big patch"?

Longport - Thank you for being patient.

Dite - Thank you for having your lightbulb turn on for us I believe you've hit the nail on the head here.

Yes Longport, that describes how they USED to work, but as of the big patch:

You can never stack multiple items that give the same bonuses to the same skill in the same piece of clothing (this goes for both SEAs and BE enhancements).

You can't stack any two BE enhanced cloth of the same TYPE (synth vs RFP) in one piece of clothing.

The reason I list them separately even though the second rule makes the first rule obvious, is that the first rule is more general and also applies to SEAs. Take a skill tape with +2 Rifle Speed, +2 Rifle Accuracy, and a second tape with +3 Rifle Speed, +1 Cover, add them to the same piece of clothing, and you get: +2 Rifle Accuracy, +3 Rifle Speed, +1 Cover - only the highest skill bonus for a single skill is taken.

And one further point - The stacking problem was mentioned by a Dev, and the response indicates that this is a limitation of the current system, and that they intend to fix it down the road.

So to summarize BE / Tailor stacking cases:

  • Multiple tissues in ONE schematic slot shouldn't stack - Working as intended.

  • A schematic that takes both synth cloth(s) and RFP(s) DOES stack, allowing you to get the bonuses from 2 tissue types (as many as 4 skills) in a single piece of clothing - Working as intended.

  • A schmatic with two slots that take the same type of cloth, usually one with a single SC or RFP, and the second taking 2 or more identical factory made cloths, SHOULD stack - NOT working as intended, but a known issue, and Dev feedback suggests it will be fixed in the future.

I'm glad we finally got this figured out Longport

Phew! Excellent. Glad we got that figured out too.

Since the patch it does occur to me that the BE items that I've made have been the one synth-cloth variety, so there we go.

Thanks for being patient all - I'm glad we're putting things together.

I suppose the next question is WHY they're doing it like this - why not let these things stack? Or is it that they're trying to move toward making higher-end BE items more popular (can't use lower end unless you want lesser effects). I mean, I've been buying from two different BEs of I believe lower level, doing my part to help them work their way up. It almost seems that the devs are cheating these poor guys.

Are any of you able to put this in pants? I have tried and just can't do it. The items will take the enhancement, but it won't show in finished product nor on the person if wearing. These I first tried with Camos and then several other pants. Just won't work.

There are about 3 threads on the subject already.

You need to take the items off the crates before you combine them in the tool, at least when the crates were made before the patch. For those made after, I haven't tried and I just do the same.
