Thread: Tailor Macro
every time you get a tailor skill box the numbers can change. to find out pick any schem number and try it once. see what item you get and what tailor box its in. try going 10 higher or 10 lower and then see what you get. for me it just took trial and error each time. if you are looking for a cartridge belt and manage to stumble on a fieldware schem - they depending on how close that is to what you get - maybe go +5 and try again.
thats some pretty slow xp. I was able to get almost 2.4k xp per minute using up to 10 tools at one time. I went from novice artisan to fieldwear 4 in less than 24 hours. Should only take another day to get master tailoring.
BTW it takes about 50k metal/fiberplast to get to fieldwear 4 and then around 75-80k steel, 55-60k metal, and 105k inert petrol to master. I would suggest going up the tailoring branch first to get the tailor assembly.
Also as a tip, run survey missions while grinding. Earn money and less boring.
1. You want to use an clothing/armor crafting tool. So you need to;
2. Open up your datapad, and goto draft schematics;
3. Start going through the schematics. Since your clothing/armor crafting tool is for two professions, you need to start going through the schematics, counting what can be crafted with it. If you have both armorsmith and tailor, you're going to have to count those. Sorry, if I'm being complicated, let me give an example.
You want to select a grindingcloth schematic.
Object 1: A CDEF Rifle. This can't be crafted with the clothing/armor tool, so you don't count it.
Object 2: A plain shirt. This can be used by the clothing/armor tool, so this is schematic 1 for your clothing/armor tool.
Object 3: A melee weapon power up kit. This can't be used by your tool, so again, don't count it.
Object 4: A armorweave segment. This can be used by your tool, so coun't it. This is schematic 2.
Object 5: Wrinkled pants. This can be used by your tool, so count it. This is schematic 3.
Object 6: A grindingcloth. This is your desired object to put in your marco. You have reached schematic six, but only 4 of the 6 can be used by a clothing/armor tool. So in your marco, you want it to select this schematic, which is 4, for your clothing/armor tool.
The above is an example and just a guide to how to pick the schematic for any given tool.
I dunno. I think there should be some kind of holocron tailor's FAQ, but that it should just give the usual powergrinding non-macro tips. Ya know, go up field wear first and that sort of stuff.
I also think such a guide should include ideas and recipies though, to keep the holocron-tailor's interest up. If such a thing existed, maybe some holocronies would stop to smell the roses now and then. ![]()
Is it an exploit? Well, first of all, it's not AFK. Second of all, to my vast disgust, Jeassa has contradicted Holocron (and the EULA) and told us that AFK macroing for XP is just fine: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=728155
Once I got 5 tools up, I was able to do this manually almost as fast as the macro will run. I think that's how I ground through my last six or seven skill boxes. I hated it with a fiery passion, and it took me ages to actually understand at a deep level what clothes and colors I ended up with, but I did it.
I'm told that schematics number from 0 in the upper left corner of the Draft Schematics tab in the datapad, and the number always changes when the number of icons change - so if you get near a crafting station and acquire more icons before the one you're using, its number will change. Count from 0 until you get to the item you're going to grind, and then fiddle around to see if there's an off-by-one error either way.
I hate grinding. I much preferred the intended system, whereby you'd get almost no XP for making items but beaucoup XP for people using them. But that's not how the game works now. And with it being so much easier to make money now (inter-city crafting missions will easily bring in 10kcredits per hour, which is enough to buy plenty of grinding material), there's just no incentive to do anything other than start at or near the top. Hardly anything sells until you get to Field Wear IV and Tailoring IV, anyway.
So the above macro goes in the first slot on the top toolbar(Slot 00) and then the 8 crafting tools go in the second row(Slots12-20)?
No other macro is need for Slots01-07?
I entered in my macro for crafting. It works, well kind of. I think i may still be a little confused. Im only using one slot, 1-12, I used 5-12 for my crafters so thats 8 crafters. But a few things have gone wrong:
#1 the crafters seem one number off, like 12 is really 11, and 9 is 8 and so on.
#2 it seems that sometimes i get an already crafting message, but the crafter takes my materials i just get no xp.
#3 it seems to skip crafters, or something, like toolbarSlot12 goes to the F9 slot. I dont know im still confused.
I'm pretty sure i'm doing something wrong, just want to get this figgured out.
Thanks,
Celyne
