Thread: Question for any tailor that labels with color names
For me it's:
Hot Pants (Black/Red) *G Cubed*
I don't mention the number of sockets (I only sell 2-4 socket items, unless the garments don't take sockets!).
For BE gear I prefix the item name with the type of mod and follow it with the "level" of mod and then colour ... so ....
Entertainer Hot Pants +25 (Black/Red) *G Cubed*
At least I think that's how I did it back in the "good old days" when we could make BE clothing ![]()
Cheers,
Gawgax

Item Name ([bonuses,] main color/secondary color)
Sunguard (+15 medical, red/black)
Formal Gown (white/gold)
Items that are part of a complete outfit get the set's name and the set's color, if it comes in more than one:
Endor Rebel Soldier Camos
A Day at the Beach Shirt (red)
I made up the color names as I went and stuck with them. Light xxx usually means the farthest left one in the row, medium xxx is in the middle somewhere, while xxx is the one on the right. (They are consistent, so at least I'll know which color I used on an item.
A few rare colors get their own name: gold is farthest left orange in the master palette, pastel blue is the light blue that's closest to matching the leather pastel blue, green-black is the black in the first row.
It'd be nicer if I used a more logical color name system, but after two years I'm pretty set in my ways.

With the major colour first. I've never actually listed sockets in my names and unless I start getting any requests then i'm not going to, although i might do what Kel ahs done and add [4S] for items with four sockets.
well i'm a guy and if it isn't a color in a 12-pack of crayolas, i don't know what to call it (only do these for custom orders so i dont care anyways)
i stick to purple, red, black, white, gray, green, orange, etc...
[+19HE] Formfitting Undershirt (Black) {mytaghere}
I label like so:
*tag* item [colours]
*SBD* Hawtpants [Tickle Me Pink/Goldenrod]
*SBD* = Style By Design, my ID/Tailoring biz (Asteriks are at the top of bazaar lists, though on the bazaar I usually just put black boots/gloves/cloaks and a few entertainer outfits listing my vendor location).
I try to use the 64 or 120 Crayola crayon colours. Now this doesn't account for every colour (ie the greys which are "Light Grey, Dark Grey, or Shadow"), but right now I do it by sight. I know the darkest colours are "Dark Blue/Purple/Red", etc, and specific colours often used like Forest Green, Scarlett, Blood Red, and so on.
I hope to eventually take the palatte and have each colour named, since so far I haven't run out of colours (You know you want those Tickle Me Pink Hawtpants!).
