Its a chemical that is harvested out of the ground, but you can also find it on the bazaar or on vendors. It will be listed as Inert Petrochemical, but if you examine it you will see its either Polymer or Lubicating Oil

Polymer is one of the most used resources to a Tailor.
here's a short explanation
Inert Petrochemical comes in 2 forms:
1 - Lubricating Oil
2 - Polymer
if you examine a stack of Inert Petrochemical, it will say somewhere which of the 2 it is.
you can obtain this resource in a few ways:
1 - Check the Bazaar and buy some
2 - Find a resource vendor and buy some
3 - Survey for it using a chemical survey tool, and them sample it
4 - Buy or make a Chemical Extractor Harvister, and use that to mine your own Polymer
Personally, i find #4 to be the best way, but you'll need credits for maintenance on the harvister, and you will also need power to use to run the harvister. power can be either purchased or harvisted using either a Wind Generator, Fusion Generator, or a Solar Power Generator.
