hide is good, but if you want something fancier how about decorations for his/her shop? if they don't have a steady stock of BE tissues, that might work too. various looted tailor schematics and components are also nice

Hides, be tissues, or a nice big stack of good quality eggs to bribe the be's with
Recyclyers always good too- expensive to buy, time consuming to find though.

You are all being so practical! Get her something expensive that she couldn't afford on her own!
I would take dragon pearls just because they are pretty...
or throw pillow schems, alderaan flora, an empty cage, lytus artifact (creates a nice lighting effect),
nightsister armband, Nightsister energy lance (looks very cool).
My most favorite gift of all time... my wedding ring!
The hero ring which heals you once a day or something!!!
OMG I was so floored when we exchanged wedding rings!!!

No idea how rich this tailoris really.
One tailor would be impressed with some of the limited use schematics, others would just add it into the bag with the other 10 or so.
Some tailors keep very very ahead on components and resources (like myself), some strugle on hides, or schematic item sub components, or even BE tissues. Buying things as they need them
Some tailors would love art items or furniture, some just are not bothered about this kind of thing, or have it all already.
Some would love another factory just never got round to it, some would love a store house, just never got round to it. etc

WTH!!! there are throw pillow schematics? since when and why have i never seen one? omg ... .
okay now back to the question:
- Creature and Chemical recyclers
- As many Exquisite Dancer's Leotard/Crafter's Apron/Lightweight Backpack/Spec Ops Pack/Weaponsmiths Toolbelt/Demolitionists Belt schematics as you can find - as many of the following in Item-LikeTypeSerial# ... CrystallineClolthingTreatment-3, HeavyDutyLeather-@least2or6ifpossible , MediumWarheadMechanisms-InLotsOf6(the more the better so she canrun a multiple schem off it), couple crates of Food/Chem and Structure tools, HeavyDutyClasps-3, couple crates of weapon repair tools, stack of titanium alluminum and a stack of thorium (sp?) steel. Now, as much of this as you can find put into a pretty package of some sort (even if you cannot find the schematics, these are the items she will need to make them when she does aquire them). Maybe name the pack - Tailor Schematic Supply Chest (practical)
- Tons of Fiberplast/Polymer/HIde - tailors mostly use generic hides, however throwing in a couple thousand units of each of the following will be a nice idea as well - Bristly Hide, Tat Wooly Hide, Naboo Scaley Hide, any kind of Wooly Hide (but mostly just good old generic hides). As well, if you can find Green Diamond and i dont remember the exact name right off but its someting like Ph ... ah someone help me out, im no good without my crafting tool and datapad LOL.
- Completely useless crap she doesnt need - If imperial, full set of stormie armor and factional furniture - a set of holocrons for nestalgia/decor - loot kit items (rugs/sculpture/gong/table) for decor - lots of ald-flora ect you get the point.
- 100 (crated) units of each BE tailor components. NIGHTSISTER BICEP!!! (they dont drop anymore and are rare as hell to find, but they kick so much butt and she will love you forever).
Any of the above is sure to impress any tailor no matter how rich she is. However, if she is not quite so rich and just starting off and you have money issues, then something like just the schematics, or the list of resources I gave, or one really cool decor item would work perfectly for her.

It's a machine where you can drop in stacks of dis-similar hides and get one stack out of it. It helps to consolidate lots of little stacks into one big one.
Here is an explanation of it, and how to get all the pieces.....

Not sure thats true.
Wont go into detail but those items really wouldnt impress me (due to either having more than enough already, or simply not wanting the item(s)) Butbuying for a tailor who has more money than things to buy is impossible anyway, if i needed something id have bought it already :/ Hopefully he is buying gifts for a tailor who is fairly new to tailoring, and not been doing it for 15 or so months
Anyway to the point...
Has skill tapes been mentioned? some tailors appreciate +clothing experiment and assembly tapes, some wouldnt care.
Also veteran reward furniture, wookie life day orbs, krayt pearls, force crystals etc, all make nice decorations (EDIT
oh and holocrons look neat too
