So I'm not a member of a guild, but I was just thinking about this. Has any guild ever requested uniforms for their members? It just seems to me that it would be a nice way of tailors marketing their wares. Perhaps this is already being done and I just haven't noticed.

How cool would it be to see a group out hunting all wearing the same garb to show their alliance? (and I'm not talking about putting them all in a black duster) Of course, the real trick to this would be to find alternative outfits for the wookies in the group.

I've done uniforms for guilds a couple of times ... matching everything ... jacket, pants, belts, boots, gloves, etc. Even had matching alternate clothing.

Ihave also create matching outfits for musical bands and dancers.

I too have created uniforms for guilds. For one of them, we had 1 outfit for men, 1 for women, and a battle outfit for raids and such. It's a lot of fun picking out the outfits, less fun to make 100+ identical clothes.

Less fun making the 100+ identical clothes?

Picking out uniforms was fun. Finding out that only one squad was going to have that uniform, and that every other squad was going to pick its own, and ultimately ending up with five seperate orders for five completely different uniforms, plus the occasional "so and so wants a tactical skinsuit for 1k, have it done by tonight"....was a good deal less fun.

did a run of 20 trader suits for a PA for their uniform. It was my first time using my factory to make something other than components. It is a logistical brainbender, until you get a grip on it. I ended up making factory crates of 9, due to the fact that the ingredients for 9 suits came out to exactly 100 quantity, which is all my ingredient hopper would hold. I then had 2 individual suits to round out the 20... one of which was a different color to distinguish the GM... convenient. Also, when I made the schematic, I gave it a custom name in bright colors... that made them really happy to see <CA> Official Uniform instead of Trader's Flightsuit - Black.

The PA even supplied the materials. A wonderful resource I used to give them the quantity I needed was swgartisan.com where I could get a detailed list of ingredients for the suit.

Just telling my story hoping that a few bits of useful advice can be gleaned from it.

Not for an entire PA I haven't. But when I was a younger Tailor and my PA officially formed, I made matching smocks for myself, the leader and the other 'general'. Personally I don't know why smocks don't sell all that great.. I think it's the name. When I put a bunch in the bazaar and rename them Warriors Smock, they sell like wild-fire.

I've just recently had an interesting time creating clothing for a guild. Everyone received an outfit in standard colors (dark grey & bright red), but all of the outfits were just a little different. At first I thought this might look a little odd, but all of them together look great. A dark grey and bright red doctor's dress on a male trandoshan looks amazing (I think it's the whole "covers those big crazy toes" thing ).

Once. As I mentioned in another thread, early in my career a guy who was founding a PA bought 25 complete rebel officer uniforms from me.

I've only done one set so far - fairly small guild.

The men picked the smock - black with a blood red sash.

I asked them if they had any female members - no, we don't.

Of course the very next day they DID - and then we had to figure out something that would look good, the admin robe looks very nice in the same colors.

One thing to keep in mind when designing guild outfits is the potential in some items to designate rank, or whatever else the guild wants to seperate by with color.

Things with stripes or belts are especially nice for this purpose. They can pick one 'uniform' and then pick colors to designate all the rest that mean something to them. This also gives a little extra punch to 'promotion' ceremonies if the member can be awarded with a new piece in different colors to give them a tangible reward for their achievement.

Our poor wookie friends I'm afraid are still out in the cold on fashion and color.

I was faced with the astronomical task of clothing TIG. All 150+ members. It's not too bad once you have the materials. I found the hardest part was handing them out. I had inventory lock up many times. It isn't just one uniform either. It's an Army, Navy, Medic, Civil Service, Artisan, Spec Ops, High Command, High Council, Squad Leader, and the new defense uniforms. Plus, being a member, this was all free of charge. It was so bad I had to set up a Uniform Supply Depot to distribute them. We also get about 10 new members a week, so I have to keep a steady stock of uniforms. Oh the life of a tailor. It's good though cause they are helping me get the materials to grind through armorsmith. Whenever you are asked to do uniforms just remember, It's a good paycheck if you are not in the guild.

Oh, and now that there's news that the Bio-Engineered tissues are getting fixed, guess what? They all want enhanced uniforms. I have my work cut out for me.

As an independent, I've gotten expressions of interest every once in a while from guilds, but never had an actual huge order materialize. I did make outfits for a couple people whose guild had an interesting uniform policy - basically, they had a particular uniform color scheme, but apparently allowed people considerable leeway for individual outfits within that.
