Thread: BigPatch 2: The Revenge
added debugging code
removed debugging code, bug fixed
put debugging code back, bug not actually fixed
refactored ObscureClassA into ObscureClassB and ObscureClassC
fixed necklaces (heh)
I just want to be the first to say, "Kudos on the topic title, Van!"
Yes, I said "kudos". Yes, I meant it.
Best title evaaaar. ![]()
Seriously, I hope this patch os a good one, I'm basing whether I cancel my account for a few months or not on the progress & story arc in the next big patch.
If they fix enough of the bugs that have existed since launch, I should be able to have fun w/o eventually logging off in bug-induced frustration. That alone would be worth another month or two's $15.
I would like to direct everyone's attention to the new 'development forums' that have been created for all to see. In it Q has made a coment about how many fixes are going into this monstrosity of a patch... about 350 pages worth! With luck! somewhere in there will be a little (or a lot) of tailor lovin. I noticed that one line from the exceprt he posted was some strange stuff about CustomWearable or something like that...
hmmmmm......
Now I can't wait till the next big patch. Please make us a thread then called BigPatch 3-D. ![]()

How about 'BigPatch 2: The Search for more Patches'
People! We've already got a fine name for this patch! It's the Revenge.
Now, for the next one, it should be: Big Patch 3: Dude, where's my decay and new schematics?
I hope this sequel is better than the original! ![]()
Looking forward to seeing the pared down patch notes to see all the changes.
There is a downside to big patches, i have seen it numerous times when i played EQ....for every10 fixes on a big patch, there is going to be atleast 1 bug created by it. this means more smaller patches to fix the mess ups after the big patch.
Incidentally thats why we have half the problems with the game now....they rushedrelease before the game was completly tested, hence all the problems we have now and the less than content and buggyness...aka 6 month live beta testing.
Its great they realise there are problems and they are finally going to adress them but If they release such a huge patch it will be weeks before they sort most (but not all, never expect ALL heh)of thebugsthe patch will create, alsosome problemswill not get fixed at all in the big patchfor one reason or another(could not fit in patch, did not think it a seriousproblem and will be fixed later ect).
My advice, do not get too excited and take a wait n see approach. ![]()
