I'm a newly qualified Master Tailor and I'm in a right mess. I have got stuff everywhere. I have a store in Mos Eisley with 5 vendors in it and lots on display. I have got tailord items scatterd about the back room, backpacks with hides, metels, cargo pockets and every other thing a tailor needs. I have a factory that I use just to make the componants I need to craft clothes and that is filled with allsorts. I have 3 back packs with allsorts of stuff in, in my inventory. I also have a bunch of stuff in my bank. I need to organise my self better. I need advice on how to do this. I have got to a point nearly where I can't craft much or move things around.

Can you guys give me some advice on how you keep yourself in organised ?

This won't help you much, but I found myself in your shoes and got burnt out. I stopped crafting for awhile (except for myself and friends) and just said screw it. Only recently have I taken it up again, and its been difficult. I would say cut back on what you have. Don't run any more factory schems. Don't collect any more resources. I ahve enough chemicals to last until next year lol. As you craft along, that will help reduce some of what you have stored up. Other than that, I have no other clues.

When you make components, don't make too many in one go. Sure - it's nice to know that there's 1000 synth cloth just sitting there waiting for you to use whenever you like .....

I'd suggest looking at your component needs based on what you make and sell most of, and try and get a simple ratio together e.g.

5 synth cloth

2 fibre panels

1 metal fasteners

etc.

Then - make small amount of the least used item, and corresponding larger amounts of the other items. This will keep your storage usage for these components to a minimum, and after a few goes at running those batches of components, you should get into a regular pattern - try for a weekly or fortnightly pattern of factory runs for the components, and just make what you'll use in that time frame.

If you find like me that guildmembers keep clogging up your vendor with leather and crystalline clothing treatments, get ruthless and say "thanks - got enough for now. I'll let you know when I need more".

Also- go through those resources you have scattered about. Anything less than 1k, stick on the bazarre terminals for afew cpu and clear out some space.

Finally - consider a second house. Have one for display and vendors, and all the nice stuff you collect whilst playing the game. Use the second house for storage and crafting. This might sound like an expensive option, but it really will increase your flexibility.

Good Luck :-)

(says he with 2 accounts, 4 houses, 2 bank vaults, guildmembers houses, 4 factories ...... and still not enough space !!!!!!)

To be perfectly honest all crafters have this issue at some point.

First and this is the most important thing in my opinion is set aside 1 workroom for yourself, inside here store 1 or 2 crates of each component (maybe more synth cloth) line them up neatly but in grabbing range of your crafting station which should be in the same room.

Have 1 backpack in your inventory with all your tailor stuff in, 1 crate of each major component, main resource types, BE additives.

This way you can craft things while out and about for people and your ready for mass crafting sessions.

IF you make a load more crated components use your bank to store these ready.

Now every week/fortnight depending on trade do 1 big crafting session, this means check your vendor for what has been selling and make at least 1 of every clothing type that has sold in a range of tasteful colours (leave the wierd and wonderful for custom jobs). Just spend an hour or so crafting all the clothes you need for your vendor to be topped up and put them on sale.

Make sure your vendor bark (if you have it) tells customers not seeing what they want to contact you by mail.

Get into this routine and life becomes simple, stock your vendors to a schedule and fit the custom jobs in between.

Each person is different but this worked for me.

I recently went through this too. I went and pulled up all my harvs, vowing to not run them again until i had used up whatI have sitting already. I run about 200-300 of eveything in my factory and leave it there, taking out one replacement each timeI use a crate. With bits and pieces of things, I make whatever I can of it and put it on the bazaar and destroy the rest (the 1 0r 2 units of what is left). My lifetime supplies of fiberplast, hides, and chemicalsI keep in a second house, leaving much more space for displays and necessities at my shop. It will eventually get better regardless, but another house for now would be the way to go for sure!

using bookshelfs, chests and other container-furniture is a good advise, too... Yes, they can hold items now and look way better than backpacks

yes but book cases still count againt total number of items in the house don't they?

My advice is not much different with the exception of selling some of your surplus on either a new or galactic vendors. I have the advantage (along with the extra $15/mo) of having an alt. She is MDOC/TKM between us we have two houses, four factories and eight vendors. When I started out I was filling my vendors but found myself spending way too much time relisting stuff. My vendors are divided by type (wookie/formal wear/ casual wear/ unmentionables/ outerware/ accessories) they carry about 50 - 75 item each, if I have to relist an item I will usually dump the items on the galactic vendor and not make it agian for a long time. I sell resources/BE and Schematic Clothing/ Loot in three additional vendors. Having a crafting character and a muscel character has really solved ther space/ resource issues for me. Also I never do a factory run of more than 20 crates of anything.

But that's just me.

I have all my resources in one factory input hopper. Both factories have component crates in the output hoppers that I only pull out when ready to use them. The shop has my displays and crafting station. My backpack I wear has a large stack of each: fiberplast, inert, steel, copper, leathery, wooly hide, and components in it. This is what I use when I craft when I run out of something I run to the factory and get some more.

This way I have my regular inventory space for my clothes and padded armor I wear (yesI tend to carry alot, I am dancer/tailor so why not?). When I realized I had over 70 pieces of heavy leather I buckled down and used my schems I had been saving and left the results in crates in the ouput hopper. And realized any heavy leather less than 5 isnt worth it as I run factory schems off them. I tend to tell friends now, thanks but no thanks and give them the name of another tailor who may not have it stockpiled yet, hehe.

Do you have a droid? I store two of each crate in my droid also, so that I have back ups if I run out. Actaully, I have two droids. Also, like the other's suggested, I carry all my crafting crates in one back pack and have my resources in another, only enough resources that I'll need incase I get hit up in Theed.

As far as your shop, I have my vendors labled the following: BE Only, Accessories, Pants & Skirts, Shirts & Vests, Wookie Wear, Robes & Jackets, Dresses & Body Suits, and last but not least, Boots, Belts, and Bandoliers...I'm maxed out on my vendors w/ my loot vendor. And with JTL coming soon, I know I'll need another for Hammerhead Wear LOL. This makes it easy for customers to come in and go directly to what they want.

Hope my 2 cents helps too.

I've got it all down to 3 medium naboo houses, 2 factories jammed packed, bank account packed, 3 droids with storage, and my backpack. All full.

This is easy to solve. Do what I do... I have my jedi with 5 droids, houses and factories holding stuff, my own lots are all houses and 5 droids, and full inventory. I even use my husband's lots for storage. All told, about 25 lots are being used for "stuff" storage.

2 accounts and borrowing a few lots from guildies:

2 medium houses - full
4 small houses - full
4 factories - input and output - full
a. I sell lots of bundled crates so I always do full 1000 schem runs
1 guild hall (mall) - full
a. 6 vendors - 1 Crates vendor withcrates bundled in packsand individual crates for sale - avg. 200 items listed (I pull crates from there if I need some in a hurry)
4 droids w/10 item storage - full
2 backpacks - Tailor Kit with all organic/inorganic resources needed to make anything (but the quest schematics/stashed in workshop) and Tailor Crates pack with at least2 crates of every component

There's many ways to juggle supplies. Depends a lot on how much you want to handle and what business model works best for you. I don't travel much, work mostly out of my mall, have most of my crates either on the vendor or in the factory output hopper, so having everything centralized works for me. But I can also grab just my 2 Tailor packs and hit the road. Have droids, Will Travel.

Wow ! Lots of help there, thanks guys.

I'm not as bad now, I have got a little bit sorted.

Its not so much the space or lack of lots but that fact that I don't have things in any order. I have stuff all over the place. I'm getting it sorted now and have back packs with just 1 type of componant in it in my house now and I have a tailors back pack on me with all the items needed to craft anything.

I'd like to just ask one thing though. What sort of ore would you buy as a tailor and what sort of polymer would you get. I haven't used any yet but have been told it is needed for certain items.
