I looted 11 portions of heavy duty leather from a Night sister Elder yesterday and after destroying them, thinking they were worthless I found out they sell for 100k+ a peice I could have made a few mil from them........

Don't beat yourself up too badly. I've been buying mine on the bazaar for 6k. Most business minded tailors wouldn't pay that much (100k+) for them.

How are they listed on the bazaar? I've tried searching for them under resource contaniers and as misc, but to no avail.

They are listed under Components (not sure which sub-category, I just do a galaxy wide search under the general components category). They are called Portion of Heavy Duty Leather, so sort alphabetically and then look under "p". Good luck finding one though, they don't last very often up there at 6k, you gotta get lucky and check the bazaar at just the right time

Yep, yep. Components. I found one once, for 3k! Right even in the city I was in. I no sooner bought it then got a double ding. One was thesale mail, the other was a tell from the guy who'd sold it. "What's it for?!" I'm like huh? What's what for? So I checked my mail and that's when I saw the names were the same. When I told him what the leather was used for, he was so sad he'd put it on the bazaar. I said, "Sorry hon, but I'm glad ya did!" And he couldn't even remember where or what he'd looted it from. Hedidn't notice itin his inventory until he'd logged in the next day. I told him where he might have gotten it. Yep. He'd been both those places. Then he asked me what they usually sold for. Then he was really sad.

Didn't find any leather, but did get a crystalline clothing treatment for 1k

Aren't the leathers useless though unless you find at least two identicals?
I looted one(!) from some valerien or something when doing the Jabba park. Just threw it away since you need two. Not a leather though,a clasp.

The best way to find them is to search the galaxy under Components. Then sort by Type. Any of the loot pieces will be listed as Type: Component (as opposed to say BE tissue which are Tissue Component) I think it's easier than having to read the lists in alpha-order.

Aaah! Don't throw it away! Save them! Or sell them!
Eventually you'll find a match that wil pop up.
From my experience, it seems like there area set number of random hd leather serial numbers [how you match the peices up] out there.
I've been buying singles at good prices [just because they don't have a match]. I save them up, and gradually, like lost socks, I eventually find a match.

In a fit of panic, thinking someone would dare through away even a single peice of hd leather, I just realized it wasn't hd leather but a clasp.
Now I know how some of the hosts from queer eye for the straight guy feel 'OMG! You just *threw out* your 1965 kitchen dining room set ?!! What's wrong with you!!

You COULD of made a couple million, but you didn't. Instead you destroyed valuable loot without asking anyone what it does.
I wonder if the first person to have discovered a holocron did the same thing as you did?
