What are the portions of heavy duty leather used for? what quantities are people looking for to buy (of identical serial numbers) also, what are they used in?

Portions of heavy duty leather are used in tailoring schematics, such as for the crafter's apron. Tailors need two identical pieces. They are matched by serial number. Sometimes tailors will by a single piece from you, if they already have a collection of 'onesies'. You can ask the tailors on your server if they wish to buy them from you, or you can offer them for sale to their shop vendors.

Both of the special schematic backpacks use one portion. Unfortunately, the backpack schematics have become more more rare than the leather itself.

Lol... I have the schematic just need the Hvy leather.....anyone know of some on Wanderhome for a good price not inflated.

Heya. I'm no tailor. I'm a fighter, so I gather resources for tailors. However, there seems to be a fluctuation going on with the Heavy Duty Leather.Sets used to go for 1m a while ago on my server, yet now people are bidding 10k on each piece, even if it's a set of 12.
What I want to know is this: what do you normally expect to pay for the leather? I want to know so I can see approximately what price they should be going for.

All those thinking you have to do every prof to get your fs slot, relax. I unlocked on monday morning and I only did 21 profs.

Ah, Scisso of the SSS, eh? /sigh.....i've got 17 pieces of leather now and I can't seem to find anybody who wants to buy them for more than 10k.
Congrats on unlocking, btw.

Two problems: One, most of the people who really wanted these aprons at first now have them, causing some pretty big price drops on the end product. With less of a demand for the products, and less profit in selling them, the demand for the components has dried up as well.
Secondly, we are currently experiencing a wacky socket bug. Many of us are holding on to our loot schematics at this time to avoid making a costly rare-schematic item with no sockets.
I used to pay 100k a piece for leathers. Now I'm paying 25k, for less than 5 (not accepting singleS) and 50k ea for more than 5.

thats cause they were rare but everybody's getting them nowadays..
i never paid more then 10k for one, i might buy some for more, but only packages..
single leather are useless.. that means a tailor needs always at least two leather with
the same serial.. (or does the lightweight backpack need them, thats the only schem
i haven't gotten yet?)
i dunno why people want that much for them.. when you know where to find them, its
not that hard.. and i will never pay 50k for a single leather..
btw. many tailors have plenty already, i am out of schems but i still have quite a few
leathers, clasps and crystalline clothing treatments in stock..

I think it's just supply and demand at work, for the various reasons cited here. Also, I think supply of the schematics themselves may be drying up a bit. As everybody completes the relevant (and non-repeatable) quests, but the leather remains available as loot indefinitely, you'll eventually get lots of leather chasing too few schematics.

This is the point I am at.I have plenty of resources, but not enough schematics for everything! Well, I am also pretty much out of crystaline clothing treatment. I wonder if it even drops anymore....

On Radiant, I've seen the prices start to shift drastically as well...
The 150-200K per for leathers has dropped to 20K MAX (I bought a set of 9 matched yesterday for 100K), while the prices for schematics have quadrupled in the past week.
So, to the original poster..don't expect to get rich selling the leathers/clasps/CCTs...go do the Themeparks...there's better money there, apparently!
