I have been a master Tailor for about 3 weeks now. I have 2 stores, 1 on Naboo and 1 on Tatooine. Since the JTL expansion came out my buisness has just died. I'm not selling anything at all.

Anyone else feeling this ? Any ideas when things might start to pick up ?

Everyone is in space hon.

Just wait for the newness of it to end and you will get more business. When the new combat revamp is put onto the live servers, thenthe shipwrights will be saying the same thing....

I've found just the opposite, because for some reason my business doubled. Maybe it's because I have a vendor dedicated to the new jtl clothing on the map. I've been praying for people to go into space. I couldn't find docs in Coronet, but I found people in my shop near Theed.

I just had a great idea, but before I write it here, let me try it in game.

My business boomed right afterthe ground part of JtLcame out. I think people came tobuy hooded cloaks, and noticed other clothes they liked, too. Some of them went on shopping sprees . I finally have over 1 mill in my account (after playing for7 months ). Business seems to be tapering off, but since I'm located in a mall with a shipwright vendor in it, I think we might still get people taking a look at our vendor.

Mine is dead at the moment too. But I focus mostly on selling components and less on clothes. It worked pretty good til now. So I've picked up shipwright to supliment. I'll have to drop some merchant skills though, very sad about that.

I made a lot during the time between when the ground game was updated and JTL went live. Right now everyone is flying around in space and doing missions though. I've have a few orders for flightsuits from people who want to look like pilots, but business (*all* of my businesses) are pretty much dead right now. One of my characters is a novice shipwright so I might have to put a few ship chassis on a vendor to tide me over until the space crazy dies down a little.

Between the ground game up-date and JTL coming out, I was very busy. I made a nice profit, from selling Cloaks and skimpy skirts. It just died the day JTL was launched. I hope it picks up in a few weeks.

If you have lots of extra lots for some reason and you want to make an easy profit, get some heavy harvesters and put them on steel and ore. *When* you can find it at all, both of them are going for 6-12 cpu even for the worst quality stuff because of all the people trying to become shipwrights.

To be honest, I barely noticed. In the last few weeks, I've been splitting my time between my combat character and my tailor in preparation for the sandbox (hey, I want to know what I'm talking about when I start babbling about... stuff). Over these weeks, I've been helping a jedi friend finish the trials - and look good doing it.

Actually the conversation went something like this:

"can you enhance gloves?"

"no"

"dang, how about striped slacks"

"Here are your options for RFP in clothing..."

"Ew, those are ugly, it's not worth it."

"Uh... but it's melee defense"

"Nope, not worth it."

Now that's my kind of jedi!

So about two weeks ago, I'm not master TK yet (I was maybe halfway there), and I'm cruising around trying to find some nasty creature for these trials, when all of a sudden we realize we're being followed... I get to the starport first, the followers aren't there yet, but Mr. Jedi doesn't make the shuttle - it's a 2 second miss. He lights up his sabre and says "let's do this".

Uh, what? Moi? PvP? Me + novice pistoleer + Jedi versus gank squad?

So there are three of em, and suddenly I realize that the guy attacking Mr. Jedi is now attackable by me. Okay, I'll run interference, since if I die, pft who cares. So I smack him around a little, and managed to incap him before I died. Not daunted, I came out of the cloner with hellacious wounds, and managed to heal some jedi wounds before I was killed again, and so was my droid. Rinse repeat.

The jedi got away. After it was all over and Mr. Jedi was off-planet, we all congratulated each other on a battle well done and healed each others' wounds and BF. Very civilized.

Things I learned:

1) Fashion is much more important than melee defense

2) being set on fire really sucks

What does this have to do with business? Not a whole lot, only that I've been busy. Oh yeah, and nerf fire. Nerf it lots.

In case you're wondering: during this pvp battle I was wearing my green hawtpants with the rest of my composite.

Other than that, I've been selling basics on the bazaar (I'm living the life of a traveling tailor at the moment, which is a nice change), doing special orders for guild, mass-producing uniform hawtpants (yep, true), and other such fun stuff. Oh yeah, and doing the entertainer quests. Mmmm western.

I've been using this quiet time to finally get around to redecorating the mall. While watching pilots buzz in and head straight for the shipwright vendor and back out again. Our city is only 1500 m from Mos Espa. I run over there a few times a day and fill the bazaar. That stuff is selling. And bringing in some customers too. Restructured prices on my vendors. Ithorian vendor is nicely stocked now too. All factories cooking a batch of sumpthin'. The Bar & Grill with Drak-O-Vision 5000 (big screen TV) is nearly done.

And I am getting closer to that last box in entertainer healing xp in the Espa cantina or our city cantina. Lots of traffic through town now. Wow. Everyone's got black bar disease. Took my yacht up a few times. I am the worst pilot ever! I ran into the Tatooine spacestation. Ka BONG! The Mayor took pity on me and took me up in his yacht for a systems hopping joyride. Weeeeee! Loved the Ion storms! Oh. And I got spacesick. Had to go lie down after we landed.

Painted my Flashpeeder hot pink just to annoy the Mayor. He calls it the Barbie car. Wait till he sees what I did to my AV-21.

Got on my combat alt for a while and hit Endor with a guild mate. Had BIG fun! I think we had the whole planet to ourselves. Tried to kill a big monkey called Old Stoneskin. (Handak) Oh no! 90% resist to kinetic, 100% to everything else... oh only 65% resist to blast, we got blast? Nope, 2 TKs = no blast. Crap. RUN! Got back home poisoned, diseased, 1 health and 1 action, black bar disease, tonnage of BF... and oh yeah, did I say that was fun? It was. We parked ourselves in the SV cantina and he brought out his master doc to heal us and I dragged Qitu out of the mall to come heal our BF. Works for me.

Business is slow right now. It's okay with me. I needed a vacation.

I had a guildie that used to lead us on wild goose chases looking for the Stoneskin Handaks. We never found one, so consider yourself lucky!

This post was a great reminder how to spend all that nice free time now that everyone is in space.

Same story here......made close to a million from hooded cloaks over three days.....business is dead since. Since there was nothing to restock, I decided to go shopping. I'm used toseeing a lot of empty vendors but many of my favorite shops and malls haven't been restocked either. There are even a few long time malls that have closed down in the last week.

I agree that some business should start returning over the next few weeks but I'm wondering if I should bother to wait for it. I think it might be time for me to just go play and let others do the work for me......*grins*
