Thread: Idea: Make Nightsister clothing obtainable (Quest or loot drop)

I'm not sure if such an idea has ever been proposed or not, and I'm not even sure if this is the right forum to suggest this, but I feel that it's the most appropriate place of all the forums. Ever since I first went to Dathomir way back last year and hunted the planet's native Nightsisters, I've always thought their clothing to be fascinating. Many people who haveseen a Nightsister Elder, for example, would probably agree with me that they look really awesome.

So I got thisidea, since Tailors don't seem to have much in the way of dynamic quests, would be to either design a somewhat involving quest (so as to prevent everyone from obtaining the attire, but not quite as hard as the RIS quest, seeing as how GDK scales are nearly impossible to loot and a full suit requires around 10 of said scales) that would allow Tailors to get the schematic(s) as an end reward or make a couple different schematics be loot drops, much like the Geonosian Sonic Blaster can be looted from the Geonosian Lab for Weaponsmiths. Anyone else here think this would be a good idea? If not, please don't flame me, I am only putting this out for comments (and maybe a developer response ).

Oh, and for those Tailors who maybe have never been to Dathomir to see a Nightsister, here are a couple screenshots of what the clothing being discussed looks like:

Aw man, after seeing the title of this thread you made me get out my flame thrower for nothin!

/cry

Kudos on being the only non-tailor I've ever seen post a "we need such and such clothing as a loot drop" that didn't then go on to suggest some way to obtain this clothing/reward by cutting the tailors out.

And yea, we'd all love that too I think, and it's certainly been asked for many times. 5 stars for ya.

Actually I've wanted Night sister clothing in game ever since I found out we women can't wear tusken clothing... Plus it looks great too...

As I said the last time this idea came up, Nightsisters are unique. They are supposed to be restricted to Dathomir. I already see (well, saw while on Live) enough poseurs playing at being Nightsister. I have no interest in seeing this sort of thing encouraged.

Syzgy, this may be true but Tuskens are supposed to be restricted to Tatooine. And yet you see tons of guys(players) running around in Tuskan robes, gloves, boots bandoliers and masks. Some of which have really nice skill mods, and yet females cannot wear them. On the same token I think they should create something equal to the exquisite Dancer Leotard , for males that have the bonus to Mind enhancement.

The difference is, Tatooine is supposed to be an accessable planet. Dathomir is not. It's plausable that a player could have killed a Tusken and taken his robes…it is far less so that a player would have killed a Nightsister and taken hers. The fact that the game mechanics allow it is something that bothers me, to be quite honest.

One thing that I think would be really neat and encourage diversity and such is to make faction stuff meaningful and to encorporate that into crafting. Example. It is reasonable to assume that a tailor who has gotten "close" to the tuskans by building up a large amount of faction points might learn the secrets to crafting their clothing, and that people with similarly high faction standing with tuskans should be have the privaledge of being able to wear said clothing. Same of course with imperials and rebels, jabbas, and really anything else (nightsisters included). It would, in a meaningful way, make you "a part" of that particular faction. Perhaps a way to implement that would be that from time to time you'd need to purchase some sort of faction-specific clothing materials from the particular faction via faction points and that would mean a continued effort to support that faction and to feel a part of it.

Of course it sure would be nice if an unarmed tailor could run some sort of non-combat missions to build up faction points with a particular group of people and so forth as well, as I'd hate to see such a thing become completely combat-centric.

Yeah that would be sweet indeed. To be honest though, I don't care how we would get it, I just want it... It's not fair that guys get a full set of tusken clothing and we get one bicep!

As a tailor and an avid admirer of the Singing Mountian Clan,I can say I'd love to have nightsister garb to decorate with even though I don't think males would or should be able to equip them... I'm still looking for that bicep part that is available.

People do go to Dathomir, there are two starports there. Forget about Theme emersion for a second. If a character has attained high enough level in combat then it is plausable that a player can more easily defeat certain nightsisters types, by them selves or with a group. Just the same, some Tuskans are alot harder to kill then others, say a Tuskan warlord compared to a Tuskan commoner. The fact cannot be denied that in this game Dathomir is not only accessable but people go there alot and they kill nightsisters alot and get biceps, lances, armor segments...

If males can get Tuskan robes with really nice skill mods then females should also get something other then just a bicep, which hardly ever drops I understand, whereas the Tuskan stuff is fairly common.
