Thread: ONE FURIOUS MASTER TAILOR
This morning something was brought to my attention as I was ina shop close to my main shop. While browsing a personal vendor in a players shop I realized that 4 items of clothing that had my shop tag on them were listed for sale. Upon a closer look I realized who the person was that had put these items up for sale. It was a customer of mine that periodically brings me clothing enhancements and has me make shirts and pants with them. I never thought anything of it until today. He is selling those items for 250k. I AM FURIOUS! First of all...they were 2 muscle shirts and 2 pairs of stripped slacks which isnt worth 250k certainly. Its not the INSANE price that is upsetting. Its that someone who has NO RIGHT exploited my PROFESSION and decided to make a nice profit off my abilities and my name. I am highly offended that someone has done this and wish to warn all master tailors and even novice tailors on valcyn....DO NOT allow this person to get enhancements made. This needs to stop. Its not about money...as a master tailor I certainly dont struggle with that. I just dont want my name being used like that or my profession being used like that to gain someone else a profit. Thats not right at all. I certainly have banned him from my shop and will NEVER do business with him again. I feel that if someone purchases something they should be honest and atleast ask. Anyways...the guys name is carg and though he is a nice person I dont appreciate what hes done to make himself a living. Get some profession and stop mooching off the work of others!

Momoko I agree with you 100%. He is not a merchant. He is an artisan and this is what he does for a living. His shop is full of weapons, armor, clothing and various other items that he has purchased in bulk and resold at his shop for well over market price. Its just rude to do this and advertise this as your business without the permission of those who worked to make those items. Its not right.

No i agree with your post on resellers being good for us to a certain extent..but this guy was not just a reseller...it was way out of hand. My clothing isnt underpriced so what he is doing is simply exploiting my effort and making a ton of profit. Its just that I hate that my name went on that item because when someone buys it and they want more or they send friends to me because it has my name on it and I sell that same item for 240k lower that what the referee got it for..dont you think hes gonna come back and ask me why he paid 240k more that what his friend just did? most people dont remember what shop they bought what in which is why we label our clothing...so that poses a problem for me I think.
Oh and to answer the question they werent attachements but bio enhancements.
Perhaps you could add the price to the name of the product? I've seen some tailors who do that. Their clothes will be named something like "Red BE Muscle Shirt by Fred 3000cr". It's not very pretty or elegant but it's a possible solution.
Surely you can see the problem with the below statement. If your clothing isn't underpriced, than why is someone able to so easily resell it for "a ton of profit"? Those two things both can't be true. Either your clothingIS underpriced, or he'snot able to sell it for a ton of profit.
And as far as explaining the price differences to customers. Sheesh, explaining to a customer why you charge less is a WHOLE lot easier than explaining why you charge more, lol. Ask him whyhe chose to buy from that particular buyer rather than you.

your price is guarantedd - as he has bought the stuff from you. He is the one taking the risk - that the goods will sell at the appalling high price and as such he takes the reward if he manages to sell the stuff.
I have 2 master tailors and couldnt give 2 hoots if this happend to me. I got the price i wanted in cash GUARANTEED - no risk - no further maintenace fees, no vendor bugs, etc etc - let them try and flog clothes to others at higher prices.
If i noticed this happening I would just review my own prices and see if i was charging an appropriate amount but i make plenty to keep me going so unless i was really underscharging would prolly stick with my normal price and far less hassle.
Sounds like he thinks he knows the market price better than you,,,but if it sits on his vendor ,,maybe not,,if it sells quickly,,maybe he does,,
Frankly I almost never ask when someone buys something what they plan to do with it,,,I dont really care,,so,,a main issue for me is ,,,Did you ask him how he planned to use the items,,that to me would have prevented any issues developing later,,
When it's a pain is when people want to return things to you - or complain about price to you - when you didn't even know your item was being resold in the first place. Or they say something like "i bought your xx with the enhancement yy and do 'u' have zz." And you have to explain that you don't have access to cloths on a regular basis, or don't sell bioengineered clothes, at which point the person says "but *I* have this item from you, blah blah" as if you're going to say "you're right, I do make bioengineered clothes, what was I thinking, come on by." Or they think you got the money, and suddenly are morally offended that you have no idea who they are after they just spent 500k in "your" shop last night on your stuff.
On an unrelated note it annoys me when someone insists that I have a certain schematic because he got it as a drop/noob clothing /saw npc wearing it.
Digression over. In conclusion, I would be appalled if someone sold my stuff and that exposed me to more tell hell than I already have.
