Well, the thing about green diamond is that the resource sellers are veryunlikely to stockpile it the way they stockpile, say, class 4 petro, or some of the weaponsmith metals. If they happen to have it, it's pure coincidence and they're probably hoping to sell it to a chef or something. I've yet to see a resource seller who caters to tailors, and I can't blame them considering how little of this stuff we use, and how low we're willing to pay for it, it would be silly for them to harvest it. Your best bet, oddly enough, would probably be to ask (very very nicely) a fellow tailor if they have extra. If you were on Bria, I'd help you out.

On Chilastra, green diamond seems to go through 2-3 month droughts, so last spawn i dropped a couple of heavies on it (Do you know how HARD it is to place heavies on Dath! OMG if Rancors weren't chasing me, the very narrow ore vein was on a freakin cliffside ) and now have about 100k of it stockpiled. Now if plexite would just spawn

Many established tailors will have socked away a large amount. I myself have at LEAST 30k of each type, and will probably never ever use more than 1k (I don't think i've used more than 500 units total on live). If you find a tailor who has a stockpile, he or she might be willing to part with 1k of it. In fact, the reason I have so much stockpiled is to help out new tailors on the server.

ArthurDent makes all good points. You also might try a Droid Engineer. We use a little of it in some of our repair tools.

A couple weeks back I had an order for several crests (for the first time since I'd mastered), so I went all over trying to find some... Apparently, it hadn't spawned on Tempest in a while, or so I was told. Eventually found someone who had 1k laying around, and he no longer needed it, so he hooked me up.

The other day, a harvester I had sitting on a metal concentration dried up, and when I checked to see what else was in that spot, I saw green diamond! So I've got about 20k now, and it's still mining. Yay!
