I'd be really interested in your socket breakdown. I think we did some tests of sockets back when the nerf went through and found some numbers (must find those tests to compare). IF you have time, could you do a sample set of maybe 20-25 and report your breakdown?

I hope not! With people *still* asking for 4 sockets I would hate to think that I am going to have to drop some skills, get combat, become force sensitive and then grind and grind just to be competitive.

OK, I'm grinding Tact skinsuits later tonight when i get off work from my 2 part time jobs. I'll be making 100's of them so i will count how many 4 sockets i get while im +18. I'll have 2 boxes soon and I will count again when i do.
FYI IgotFS with zero combat skills, All i did was get a pre-nerf republic blaster, wear uber comp armor & get buffs and i was able to get glowy and kill the sith's alone.

Now im in the 2nd box of assembly and i get 15 out of 25 with 4 sockets (tact skinsuit). I ran tests of 25, about 4 times and got about the same results each time.
force assembly does help with getting 4 sockets.

Well, if my sith ever arrive and I can unlock that by tomorrow then I will give up a little merchant for the assembly tree! If they don't come in time and it goes to the next phase, then I guess I will put everything but bioclothing on the backburner since it will be hard for me to compete (especially since we are on the same server). I finally was visited by the old man this morning, so if I am lucky I can do this! I still get lots of requests for things with 4 sockets and it is really too bad that they are making us become force sensitive to be able to do this now.

Yay! Thats what I was wondering....I wanted to do the crafting quests and was worried I was going to have to give up some of my much loved skills!
*does a happy dance*
Quick question about sockets as well....does being in a city designated as a research center help at all?

I'm in a research center, and I still get 2 sockets on a fairly regular basis. I should try and see what the actual numbers are though

I am in a Research City as well and have done some tests. It makes no difference what so ever. I average 4 sockets about 10-15% of the time. Funny thing is that I usually get like 4-5 items in a row with 4 sockets followed by a streak of 1-2 sockets

Does being in a reseach city have something to do with our assembly of clothing? Just a question from a still novice tailor...

nope - it needs to be a manufacturing centre to improve the assembly when crafting. Research is just for experimentation which is not much use for tailors unless making Armour Padding

That is good to know about the assembly tree! Now I have a reason to continue grinding my way through the FS trees

I'm thinking I may just have to go out and get the FS crafting trees... unfortunately, this means I have to get my main to glowy...
