Thread: Vandessa? Is this a typo?
From Thunderheart's Weekly Report 2 thread (Emphasis mine):
"For the remaining opening slots; Brawler, Rifleman and Tailor, I am discussing the positions with the candidates now and we should have those slots filled by next weekI’ll do some forum specific announcements as well."
Is this a misprint? I know I'm in the midst of leaving tailoring myself, but the loss of you as a correspondant would be a loss to the game as a whole, IMO. :-(
:-(
Okay, I was hoping to be allowed the luxury of breaking the news to you myself first.. I wasn't aware that it was going out in the weekly update that the torch would be passed officially when we had decided on who the new correspondent would be. *sigh*
Yes, I am about to take my leave of this lovely position. As stated in Thunderheart's weekly update #2 I have been appointed as the Correspondent for the Test Center Server.
I think this move is a wise one, and while I love tailoring. I also love Test Center and do much work for the server on a broader scale already. To that effort, my attendance to the Tailoring profession was starting to spread thin and I couldn't bear to do that to you folk.
I assure you the candidates that are under consideration at that time are very worthy of the title. I have known them through the Tailor Forums or I have heard great things about what they have done from other reliable sources.
I am confident your interests will still be protected. I really am. And, in a way I won't be truly gone.
I will still keep my master tailor on TC, and I will still help the new correspondent in any way shape or form. That I promise. I will also still continue to serve like I always have until a new corespondent is chosen.
*great big hugs*
/e remembers to read ALL of Thunderheart's next post. :-)
Sorry to see you leave us as a correspondant, but our loss is Test Center's gain. Thanks again for all you've done and will do in the future.
Vandessa, I'd like to personally thank you for the time and effort you put in here. I've played a lot of different characters across a lot of different servers, so I've had occassion to frequent most of the Profession forums at one time or another. I have never seen another Correspondant who was as universally well-liked and respected as you are.
I don't believe anyone here has ever had any real complaint about anything you've ever done. You've represented and supported this community extraordinarily well, and unlike some of the other Correspondants, you've done it without stepping on the toes of the non-Tailors out there. You weren't just some jingoist always towing the party line for our profession, you were a fair and even-handed person who obviously had the best interests of the game as a whole in mind. I'm sure that's why you've been (rightly) chosen for this quasi-promotion.
Good luck on Test Center. You've got your work cut out for you, between the influx of new testers wanting to see Mounts and Player Cities and the recent rash of Crash To Desktop bugs. I'm certain that if anyone can get through it with grace and style, you can.
Yes, Vandessa you''ve done a wonderful job here for us tailors.
I.. uh.. put my name in as correspondence a long time ago, do you know if I need to re-apply for it? Did you recommend someone to replace you? How exactly does that work?
This and the chilastra boards are the only boards I actively participate in all the time and I feel I am well aware of the current issues of our profession.
I think I'd be pretty good... though difficult to fill your shoes ![]()
hugs
You are an awesome correspondent, and shall do whatever forum you represent an excellent job.
Thanks for all the tailorong help, you have given us.
/salute
