Thread: have sockets been improved since patch?

Is it just me or is the rate at which we get 3 or 4 sockets improved since the patch?

I crafted a bunch of stuff yesterday and got many more sockets than I have been getting since the nerf.

Was this a change, or am I just getting lucky?

I haven't heard anything about it, but if you want to come up with some hard numbers, let's have a looky.

This week has not been particularly... forthcoming with information. I think they're just really busy. Between you and me and the man behind the tree, I think things might be much calmer after E3 in a few weeks. (But that's just speculation, cause nobody is telling me anything about topics that don't relate to hawtpants).

Yeah my numbers are not that diferent but they are improved.

I would have to say mostly 3s and 4s with the most at 3 and only 15 at 1 or 2 and1 at zero.

this is out of about 50 Items crafted last night and tonight. I am a master using a crafting apron and some skill tapes (not that this matters as far as I know)

maybe it is because the city I am in is actually now bennefiting from the research center and that is affecting it somehow.

I know they tried to fix the city enhancements in the last patch and I have noticed a difference in my asrtisan crafting from that. It actually used to be better to leave the city before the patch on talus, now it is better in the city.

I doubt this is the case though since as far as I have heard, the quality of your tools and stations doesn't make a difference. Maybe the research center fix does help. Who will ever really know until one of the higher beings lets us know.

I've always been in a research center, and I haven't noticed any change at all.

Well, last night I started working on the "maximum socket" suit that someone had ordered. After making over 30 shirts to get one with 4 sockets, I was almost in tears, swore never to do another one of these suits again and seriously considered quitting tailoring (especially since I was talking to a droid engineer and he was telling me about the millions of credits he made since the last patch and I know that there is nothing planned for us for a very long time). Anyway, fortunately the other pieces of clothing went a little smoother and I made it through.

Well maybe I have been extremely lucky, but I have been having good success with getting 3-4 sockets on each item:

Last night I received a order for 6 uniforms:

They consisted of:

6 Pairs of Leather Gloves
6 Pairs of Uniform Boots
6 Shirts (Don’t recall the type, they were long sleeve)
6 Pairs of Pants (Again I don’t recall the type of pants)

One pair of gloves had 0 sockets
Of the rest, I would say 4 items had 3 sockets, the rest had 4 sockets.

When I delivered the outfits I found out they were going to be used on vendors… D’oh!

Talk about a waste..

After I completed this order I received another order for Max Sockets:

I made a cloak with 4 sockets
I made a belt with 3 sockets
I made a pair of Pants with 4 sockets
I made a Head wrap with 3 sockets
I made a shirt with 4 sockets.

I tried getting everything with 4 sockets, after 5 belts and 4 head wraps at three sockets I gave up.

I did all of this in my house in Naboo, with a personal crafting station.

I've had pretty good luck getting 3 and 4 sockets fairly regularly. *knocks on wood*

I made 20 items the other day to put on the bazar. None of them had 4 sockets. All were tailor-level items, and they were made with a very old droid with clothing crafting station.

Hi, I dont post much in here but I read Everything and have since beta You all are great!! NJ...awesome job!!

As to sockets..here is what I did, and it may help you with those socket suits.

I sat and chose 4 outfits, and when I got an item with 4 sockets I made a schematic for 10, wound up with all 4 suits, Leather gloves, Large head wrap, Hide boots, Decorated belt, Simple shirt, Ribbed pants, and a Flex form shirt. I chose to make these in Black, White, red and blue and when I let my clients know I had them they sold fast. I'm pretty laid back so when the first person offered me 50k a suit I said sure and sold all of them for that price.

Wasn't a bad deal, so turned around and made sets for my guild too

22 more items last night, 2 4-socket items. So that makes it 2 out of 42 or right around 1 in 20 (5%).

Bleh I'll start haggling again, but honestly, the timing this week sucks with the ID publish, so I'm gonna wait until it hits live and settles in there. Then let the badgering commence.
