Thread: Ithorian Clothes was it worth it ?

I spent most of my day changing my display's putting up the new Ithorian Clothes. It was a lot of fun I had to laugh at some of the new hats and I was realy shocked at how good some of the items are. Without trying to be too negative the only major let down is the colours when you make two items that are suppose by name to go together its a bit off putting when you make them the same colours and they dont match.
Well anyway after a number of hours hard work I stood back looking at all the wonderful new clothes in my shop. I was very pleased it looked good I was ready for a flood of sales.
The it hit me, WHAT FLOOD OF SALES ?. Really with the limit of one character to a server how many people are going to choose Ithorian ?. It would either me re-rolling my main character, having a second account or getting aound to unlocking my second character via the jedi route.
So how many people will this apply to, well in truth we dont know but the figure is going to be low, 5% of the population of the servers if we are luckly will be Ithorian.
Its not about me, or selling clothes but the hard work the art team put in making the new schemes for the Ithorian clothes. You have to ask your self was it worth it ? Was is worth the x number of hours it must have taken to design the new clothes only for them to be useable by such a small percent of the population ?
Cool as they are perhaps it would have made more sense to limit the number of Ithorian only clothes to a wookie size set, but create clothes for the 80% of the server population? They could have made clothes for the other new race in game in the knowledge it could have been worn by many more people.
I am not trying to be negative, Sony have done a great job with the new clothes, its just I feel sad that all this effort feel wasted as few people will get to enjoy them ?
What are your views ont his matter ?

I think you don't have to expect a total Ithorian cloth-sales-rush with the first day. But from what I have seen they will be very popular and since they give nice boni for shipwrights you can expect quite a few folks that will create new toons (maybe on new accounts, too) as Ithorians and they will sure want to look cool, too 
So have some patience and maybe do some advertisement and you will see new customers pretty soon.

You may see wookiees changing to Ithorian. A bunch of fed up wookiees rerolling.

Good point. One I thought of while checking out the new clothes in beta. There won't be a lot of Ithorians... at first. But make it, and they will come. And yeah, some people will reroll an Ithy, some will get a second account...
But already I am selling Ithorian clothes to merchants who want to dress their new Ithy vendors. There's our major market for now. The walking talking Ithy's will increase over time. They really are just too cute and the groovy clothes are a big draw. /whisper ...As well as the shipwright bonus.

Well perhaps the sales for their items won't rival that of what the other humanoid races can wear, but it is worth making them I think simply for the novelty if nothing else

I think that when people see how cool the iths look, they'll be using their second character slot for one. I'm expecting a huge rush after village phase 6 comes to a close.

The clothes ar great, and when I unlock my 2nd I will definitely create an Ithorian. The first day they were out I was only able to craft very few items ... and what happend? The next day I logged in they were all sold, even the BE ones
There must be other especially seeking to create them soon, so I dont worry about selling or not. And I have so much fun crafting them ... the Elvis things, really great

I set up vendor with Ithorian clothes the first night it came out. I made every single piece and sold few of them. Merchants right now but I think it will be a good seller in all.

I had an Ithy in beta and loved it. I may re-roll my wook and make an Ithy. In fact I'm pretty sure I will. Ithy armor is pretty darn cool too.

I have already started making Ithy clothing. Also done some BE stuff too, which looks great. Shame that when they changed the wookie clothing to it's own section they didn't do the same for Ithy stuff.
Sidenote:I hope theyfix thewookie-crafters apron problem soon. And also allow the Ithy's to wear them too.
Question? Was anyone able to equip a backpack in the beta, on Ithy's? As i never could.
And if not Devs, Why have you not allowed for an Ithorian Backpack in the Tailors list?

I have been wondering the same thing. I had great fun dressing up my Ithorian Vendor although its a shame that the newsboy hat has a small pallette.
My vendor at the mo is called Ithorian Clothes, custom orders only until i can see an influx of Ithorians then i'll start producing properly.

I have already sold Ithy clothes on my Ithy Clothing vendor. And I have also had some orders from merchants to dress up their Ithy vendors.
I have a seperate Wookiee and Ithy vendor, not for sales, but for completion of stock, and for those do happen to be those species who come in, I want them to see what all is available. And it easier than relabelling all the clothes Wookiee Only or Ithorian Only! LOL.

I personally love the new Ithorian clothing. I bought a bunch of clothing from a vendor i found just so i could dress up my ithorian vendors. If i had the money to get a second account i would and i would make it a Ithorian just because i think they look cool. Today I was actually wishing that i had never dropped tailor.
Anyways i think that at first tailors wont sell much Ithorian clothing... mostly just to the Merchants who have Ithorian vendors. But as time goes by i think there will be more people that choose Ithorians for there characters and then the tailors ithorian clothing will start to sell more.
