A friend asked me to make her a Santa Suit for christmas.
She said she's alread got the pants and boots and gloves covered, so she needs a hat and jacket.
I made her a warm hat with bright red on the top and white on the bottom. looks great, just what she wanted.
for a top, i instantly thought, wooly jacket. looks just like a santa jacket. i crafted one, and found that i can only set one color for it. now i know that i've seen tops that look just like this that were bright red with white cuffs on the sleeves. i currently have tailor 4-1-3-4. when i hit master and get more customization mods, will i then be able to specify 2 colors on a wooly jacket? if not, is there some other top that would look good for a santa suit that lets me choose bright red and white for the 2 colors?

No, the wooly jacket is only one colour at master level too.
I've been making the Belted Jacket for people who want santa suits, main body in red with white sleeves and collar. Its Casual Wear 2 so you will have the schem in your datapad

Thanks.
odd i never noticed that before. oh well, i'll call my droid out tonight and try one out and see how she likes it.
another friend wants a christmas suit too, so i think he's gonna get some sort of Santa's Elf suit.

The belted jacket or scout jacket in casual wear (1 or 2) makes a good santa item. Of course you need bright red, but those are the 2 I would suggest.
EDIT: Red is a master level color. You will need to be a master to do this, or to see a master to buy it.

with x-x-x-4 i have a pretty good Red choice for Santa Suits. my guess is that i'll get an even better one at master, since your blue glowieness says so.

Yeah the "red" you have now is more pinky/maroon. You will get a true fire-engine red at master, and I personally think it's worth holding out for it since it really screams "santa".

i have a really bright fire-engine red type color i can make some clothes in right now. like the Muscle shirt and Pantaloons, but i'm guessing it's either another red added to that pallette, or the jackets you suggested use a different color pallete.

It may be your monitor settings, because the color at tailoring 4 looks like hot pink to me. Do you have any clothing customization skill tapes that might be artificially raising your color choices, or has something changed in when colors are granted?
Look at this palette. Scroll down to Palette 3. The order and number of the colors should tell you which colors you have. You now have 175, and I am talking about 217 at master.
If that's confusing, look at Teli's tailoring chart. You have G13, and master gets G16.
If by some miracle you already have those reds (217, or G13) then please let us know!

hmmm, i'm not sure, because i am pretty sure i've got 2 different lines of red. there's the row that is more pinkish (169-175) and i also have the more reddish one (211-217) but i do not have the orange colors below 217 (although i sure wish i did)
any chance you could do me a favor NJ62, send me an in-game email to Lowca.Teero and remind me to take a screenshot of my color pallete, then i'll upload it to my site somewhere and link to the image on the forums.
i'm sure it'll completely slip my mind without a reminder.
also, it is possible that my color settings aren't right, and i am thinking that i have 211-217 when really i am looking at 169-175.
so i'll try and get a screenshot of my pallete tonight so we can check on it.

At xxx4, you should have a nice red, but it isn't the same as the "master" red. It is just few shades darker. Personally I used the xxx4 red as much as the master red, but for a santa suit, I think you probably want the bright red you get as master.

Hmm... Maybe you are right about that since I haven't looked for a really long time. I thought that you got the third line of red a xxx4, and then picked up the orange line on at master. Now I really can't remember though!

Yeah well I leveled tailor in February on TC, and ground through in JTL beta, and I really remember that you only get the "pinky red" that I referenced above at Tailoring 4, and no fire engine red until mater. I think our perceptions have a lot to do with monitor settings.

I think that its been at least 6 months since I have leveled a tailor so its really hard to remember!
By the way, I calibrate my monitor with one of these! It works great!
