I've noticed the following behavior on the bazar:

If there are two different shirts on the bazar, each one of a different style, one priced at 500cr, one priced at 2k, the 2k one will almost always sell faster than the 500cr one. Doesn't seem to matter too much what style, or what color (so long as they are not the same style of course), or whatnot, one is just perceived as "noob-ware", the other as perceived as a "quality, high level tailor" item. It's somewhat counter-intuitive, but it seems to be true. I guess this just goes to show that it's all about perception, and when you think about it, the only thing that really separates one clothing item from another is the price tag anyway.

Maybe you should just use the word 'sale' instead of clearance. It's funny how smalldetails make a difference.

Human behavior is hysterical, you gotta love it. Try this on for size. If the "clearance" items or not selling, but the same exact item is selling on the "regular" vendor, simply reverse your vendors. Place the over stocked items on the "regular" vendor, and just place one of the "normal" items on the "clearance" vendor, folks will look through the "clearance" vendor then go the "regular" vendor and buy items there. That way you are selling the overstocked items faster which is what you were after in the first place right? But you get the plus of selling them at the "regular" price. Would love to see if that would actually work.

My "sale" vendor never sold very well. So I've just been sticking overstock on the bazaar. Instead of the sale vendor, my new experiment is an "uncraftable clothing" vendor, I'm listing all of the uncraftable loot clothing, which I've been collecting for awhile. Of course I have no control over color selection, but I have just a few of the noob scout style vests in colors other than the noob scout tan that may sell rather well...

Ok... so I got zealous and made way too many bustiers the other night. Well I have a few items that I made in colors I adore but of course they are not part of the general population's best choices. That's the beginning.. here's the test:

I made a "clearance" Vendor. Put all the things that I wanted to clear out for a new season's line and half of the bustiers I made in my zombie like state (you know the one.. when you're just clicking and can't stop) lol. Well, very few things sold. Mind you I've put extras that are exactly the same as my regular vendor... I mean identical but the ones on the regular vendor are selling first.

My husband says that it's because they still have the mentality of the items being second hand on a "clearance" rack. I've priced them cheaper only to get rid of the silly things. I love my Rodian that holds these items for me but I'm thinking I might go ahead and make another vendor and term it as an "overstock" vendor. Personally I adore making clothes.. even though I've been doing it for ages and I will always have more than I need for my vendors. (so the just don't make so many..won't work.. that was my hubby's first response)

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for the replies. As to the loot wear... I never keep the newbie vests in stock.. I get them, list them.. sold. Good luck with the new vendor!!

One idea is that you might want to have your "clearance" vendor in a *physically* separate location somehow - a second shop, in a mall, or something like that.

Lately, I've been using the bazaar for this, and it's been working OK, but a separate vendor in another place might do as well.

I'm thinking about this in real-world terms. For example, Gucci sells its marked-down stuff at "Gucci Outlet Stores," not (I think?) usually side-by-side with the latest full-price highest-of-high-fashion stuff.

I also have a sales vendor, usually for when I've mispelled something or pressed the wrong damn key or just goofed generally. I tend to sell the items at half price but perk them up a bit by adding a description claiming they are an end of line bargain or a one-off for display.

They sell like hotcakes

I have a "bargain bin", all either clothes with no/few sockets or misnamed clothes. They sold a lot at first, but now hardly sell. I think my regular customers either prefer my naming system on my regular vendors (much easier to find the item they need at a glance), or just figure they've already seen everything I have on there. When new people wander into my store, I usually get a couple of sales on that bargain bin vendor.

Oh, another thing I used to do with my unwanted clothing (before I made the bargain bin) was to make a "grab bag" pack of clothes. I would put in the description some info, like "women's clothing, at least half are socketed, plus a bonus matching bracelet and necklace" or something along those lines. They sold very well, and I was noticing an increase in usage exp when they would sell, so I know they at least found something in there they liked. That was all lower tier stuff, so I was able to put like 20 undesirable items in a pack and put it up for 3k. These didn't ever sell on my vendor, but sold on the bazaar within a day or two. I'm also on Eclipse, btw, and was selling them in Theed.

Didn't quit, just got more vendors . I occasionally sell stuff on the bazaar, and have been considering clearing out my bargain bin by doing some more grab bags, but I'm too busy right now trying to stock up my vendors with all the new stuff I can make now (finally hit master, after months of leveling the hard but good way). I'm surprised you remember my grab bags, though. I know you ended up on my customer list somehow, but I figured it was just from when I miscalculated the price of cloth and was selling them for like 900cr on the bazaar
