Im not a tailor, but im a player who likes the clothes of this game =P when i started my first few creds were used to buy some clothes.

After... lot of time, theres no "Eye Weare" no "hooded Cloack" no New Stuff, so mabey i dont know how but, if SOE can add some new stuff to the tailor profession and let DE as it is , the next Publish in my opinion is a waste of time, cause the remap of DE is already made, they need to remap Tailor, ID (thats the good thing of the next publish) and... lots more , but this professions are dying, every one wanst some new stuff to wear, and more now , with so many jedis looking for a nive hooded cloack, or new cool looking stuff.

And People like me who wants some glasess, not like the ones of the Special Editon, but something like them.

I Hope SOE can Add new things to this cool profession, that make us look like we wanna look =)

I want new stuff too! Posting that they should scrap the fixes for the DEs and do tailors instead just seems to beg for DEs to come over here and vent their frustration on us, though. We are both hurting and we both need to be fixed. The difference is that they keep getting lots of promises that don't get fulfilled and we seem to be getting a whole lot of silence. Hopefully with a little persitance and patience they will get their fixes and we will finally open some lines of communication. Look at whats happening for image designers because of Kwee's hard work and the work of the people who post on that forum. Maybe with a little work, tailors can be in the same position.

heh its also not liek we tailors haven't been trying aided by the very kind and generous NJ...i need to see if i can get an interview with a dev or art person at e3 for my magazine and i suppose i should really try adn talk with them about where they are going with the game...every day it seems like something new is gonna go wrong or has been made worse...and tailors not having enough new stuff is one of them...and no don't count those new 3 use schems as new as only 1 of them actually has different art lol...i just think we have been getting sold short for more popular professions and the plans for jedi even though most of the population is the major professions that are in the game automatically why do they do stuff to jedi which is supposed to be such a small population it should not be top priority...anyways i will begin to ramble if i go any further...

my basic point was we have been trying for new stuff(not eyeglasses probably due to the fact that those were a special collectors edition item which i like advertising the fact that i wasted 70 bucks instead of 50 lol)

i guess the only advice i can give is be patient...i know its trying sometimes but it will hopefully eventually get fixed

I guess that my point is that the tailor community is small and it isn't going to get anything done just by venting its outrage at the devs. It takes more voices than just ours to get things done that way and at best they will ignore us. Since many of us want things like decay which is inherenetly unpopular (hey, everyone wants everything they wish for to be free and last forever!) , the worst is that we would be drowned out by everyone else opposing us. The best we can do is make this a forum that the devs *want* to read and have a strong and unified message of what weneed and rational reasons for why weneedthem. Posts about how we need to be fixed more than other classes, or how much we hate other classes or attacking the devs and SOE do more harm than good, I think.

I get asked almost daily "what new stuff can you make" and unfortunately, for nearly a year now, my answer is always the same... "absolutely nothing".

I think it would be AWESOME if we got new clothing. I would start a petition for better entertainment wear. Some classy stuff and nice big honking stacked heeled boots would be so cool. Mini skirts, and patterned wear. Some of the clothes are really nice, and some of the clothes make me look like an eighties hair band groupie. I want a garter belt!

Me too. No new clothing is the slow death of tailoring. The question is how do we get them to add new clothing? The pessimist in me says that we need to wait for the space expansion and 2 or 3 new generations of ships, but we have to keep pushing for it!

i wish thats what i got asked...instead i get the "can you make the clothing that the other guy is wearing"

i mean seriously its like we have retarded customers...no offense to anyone i just find it annoying that i get that question in different forms(as well as different spellings)daily...tailors need something IN GAME so we can show people what our stuff looks like...rather than having to make it 50 bajillioon times...or if we could have tailor display cases or something made by architects so that we could place more than the 250 items in a large house or guild hall...then we could show off styles and colors...

but yes new stuff would be great...i am hoping for the space expansion but honestly i doubt it and honestly if i don't get new stuff at the expansion i will most likely leave the game...i have been playing since early beta and have loved the game(despite my trash talking and outbursts)yes some content is lacking and yes sometimes i do get a bit pissy but overall its the only MMO i have stuck with for a long period of time...so i would really hate to see myself quit...

anyhow i am rambling i just am so passionate about the game and the stuff that i see missing...i do understand how much work it takes to put it in the game but the only way MMO's stay popular is by having new material...and not just new themeparks for combat professions...so thus i conclude another issue of watch stumpet complain

i think the best think to do that would be to have a terminal for tailors that allowed the customer to desighn their own clothing

on the terminal and place the order, the Tailor can then veiw what the customer wants and procede to make the item(s)

of course a terminal like this would have to only allow those items and colors avaliable to that tailor IE: would be based off of the tailors own skill, to prevent orders comming in that cant be filled, and of course the tailor could have the terminal set to charge a usage fee, or a down payment for the order based on pre-set prices for each itemect...

basicly

allowing the customer to see exactly what that tailor can do with both colors and items

prevent tailors from having to remake orders until customer gets color ect..he/she wants

allows customers to place orders while tailor is offline without the need for detailed emails

just my 2 cents

This would be the one thing that would make me quit tailoring. The creative part of tailoring is one of the main reasons why I am tailor. If they had such a terminal, there is really no creative control left at all! In fact, there would be little purpose for me to tailor at all! Why not just add a feature where you put in your fee and the clothing pops out of the other end of the terminal?

i agree on that...i just want them to see what i have to offer when they tell me can you make what the other guy wears lol...there is no creativity in that either my friend...and its hard to accomodate the people that want specific stuff but don't know the name of it...i personally would rather be told a budget and design the outfit myself heh...but unfortuantely i don't get many orders like that...the only part that really is creative on my end is when chosing colors....but you are right on the terminals it mine as well jsut have an insert credits here and be done with it...anyways we will see what happens in the coming months as well as what happens with soe and swg at e3 i hope

Theres nothing creative about custom orders, dosent matter if your doing it by email or the old " make me what hes wearing", your still not selling something you desighned on your own, your filling a order based on what the customer wants

some tailors take custom orders, some dont, but for those that do this would be of great help as a option to have avaliable

, least i think so

Actually, I do mostly custom orders, but in all but a few cases they are usually either pretty general, or they come in for an appointment and we discuss what to make and how things work together. Rarely does someone say, "I want a white and yellow decorative vest with the white being the first white in the white boxes and the yellow being the last yellow in the yellow boxes and a pair of thin striped pants, with the same white and yellow." This is even with Smi's color showroom! In the cases where it *is* very specific, I often end up with requests to remake them because different clothing takes color differently and it takes experience to know how to do it. What would make a terminal even worse is that everyone likes to "solo" and feels they can do every job better than everyone else. There would be very few tailors who could survive without using the "termial" method if they were available and as a result, there would probably be very few tailors at all.

If you have had a lot of trouble getting clothing made the way you like it, go find some of the better tailors on your server (both th popular new ones and the old masters who have stuck with it for months and months). There are a lot of people who hologrind to tailor and decide that they like it enough to keep it for a few weeks. Unfortunately, they don't know their products (since they have only made ribbed shirts and cartridge belts) and they usually bored andleavetailoring within a few weeks. I think that this is where a lot of the problems come from since they often have to make things over and over to get something that the customer wants. If you go to one of the better tailors, you will probably find your clothing-buying experience very pleasant and that you will have an outfit that looks even better than you first imagined!
