Thread: Tailors...Dont push for ca's to be destroyed when clothes go to zero, instead.....

How about campaigning for the ability to unslice or disassemble clothes to retrieve the ca's in them. you would make a fortune doing this. just as smugglers slice weapons, you could unslice clothes to retreive the ca's so they are not wasted. Alot of people would pay good money to get a plus 25 ca back.

Just thought I'd chime in to confirm.

I totally disagree. This attitude "I gotta have this last forever cause I spent so much" is old. Not the way the game was intended to be played. There has to be a way to filter out the old and in with the new, just like armor, weapons, clothing, ca's you name it. Besides there are clothing repair kits that have beenin game since day one. Had they been used as inteded this wouldn't even be an issue, but due to this long standing bug it didn't happen. They weren't meant to last forever!

Tailors have been screwed way too looooong, with no new clothing in site due to the complexity of avatars and movement, and no decay. Its past time for this issue to be put to rest. Lose a CA.... go out and hunt for another. Live with it and move on.

a-yup

repair and insure

too many assumed because decay did not apply it didnot/doesnot matter
I do not think Tailors nor Armorsmiths should be responable for the fact players did not care about the items they wore

The idea of anything lasting forever sucks imo. Not too fond of ADKs for that reason.

How would any economy function if certain things never had to be repaired or replaced?

Afraid I have to agree with Kraken - as a tailor, I'm all for the decay, and peopleusing repair kits & insuring things, but also as a2yr vetplayer and 1/2 combat prof, I also own some very high level ca's and an NS armband worth a small fortune that I don't want to lose. I have never suffered for business and do more than plenty with the clothing decaying and still useable as it is. I have many customers who have accidentally 0 conditionned items and came to me to replace them. Also I get a load of repeat business to have new clothing made by the same people for same clothing sets they already own made up in different colours, and word of mouth sends me more business that I can handle most days because I take pride in my craft and get the best results I can get for people.Sorry, I seriously don't see what the big deal is with the clothing notgoing up in smoke.

I think it would be fun to be able to disassemble an article of clothing for someone, in the same vain a smuggler 'slices' a weapon to make it better (and have you people seen the money smuggler's make slicing lately? I mean WOW!) or a shipwright can RAR a piece of equipment (and find the hidden disks to untimately make the coveted Firespay). It would make the profession that much more interesting than simply churning yet another pair of hopefully 4 socket pants ... especially if they did a similar thing as the shipwright and we ended up with the 'secret ingredients' to make a spectacular hidden schematic, something say along the lines of one of Amidala's gorgeous dresses, or an Imperial Emperor's guard uniform, etc ...

Some things to think about.

I ADKed my armband.

I'm a firm believer of "you can't expect your behind to be covered when bugs get fixed", and folks should know that it's a bug when you can still use 0 condition clothing. if they choose to pay so much for the SEAs, then it's their choice.

I agree.

I bought some gloves that were 920 condition 4 days ago. They were insured and I only died wearing them pvping. They're down to 840 condition.

The game is having them decay when it shouldn't. I finally got smart and took em off because the mods are broken right now anyway.

However, I came here to find out of you can repair clothing?

Yes clothing can be repaired but not to 1000/1000 it does decay over time and some repairs completely fail. I sell clothing repair tools on most of my vendors where I sell clothing.

I made crates and crates of them at one time. I don't think most are even aware they exsist?

Artisans can make a Clothing Repair Tool, just like they can with Weapon and Armor. You buy one of those, then use the radial to bring up the options, choose use. It will then list every piece of clothing on you that is below full condition. You click on the one you want to repair. As with Armor and Weapons there is a risk that the repair will break the item. Also the max condition will be lower after it is repaired even if successful.

So I assume that you either repair it somewhere near half for best results or just gamble repairing it when its down to 100 condition seeings mods probably won't work when clothing is broken in the future.

I understand both points of view on this but having clothing attachments become disabled at zero condition isn't fair if people are being smart with them and only using them for pvp.

Like I said, those gloves shouldn't have decayed at all.

Perhaps as the original poster suggested there could be a way to retrieve the items. Maybe have the attachments lose some effectiveness but not all. Just a thought.

You pretty much took the words out of my mouth! If they decide to do something with skilltapes then that is great, but I am not going to ask for the devs to hold off on fixing clothing decay until they do this. I have seen the clothing market slowly shrink due to lack of decay since launch and if clothing lasts forever it will never get better. Yes there are some people doing good business but its bad for the economy when one or two tailors can supply an entire server.

This was originally promised to be fixed way back in the mists of publish 10. There's been plenty of time to get used to the fact that 0 condition clothing would someday be useless.
