It doesn't make much sense, either, unless the truth was something like the devs allowing "condition = 0" items to stick around for some generic reason, and not considering the peculiar case of clothing.

For example "For technical or interface reasons (like people getting confused when they can't find their dead pistol in inventory and submit customer service reports about it), we don't want zero condition items to literally be destroyed/deleted at zero. And it shouldn't be a problem, because something with zero condition is going to be truly useless - armor won't protect, guns won't do damage, etc."

I could imagine that sort of reasoning, which would make sense for most items, but not clothing, which is *inherently* "useless."

But devs sitting around and saying "I specifically want you to make sure clothing is never destroyed, even when it's at zero condition, because I hate tailors" or something... I can't think of any plausible scenario for something like that.

I agree, if it was intentional then they did it because "players don't like it when items disappear from their inventories." Or something like that. And not because they're out to get us.

But if that is the case then clothing needs to become unequipable when it reaches 0. Which would be the equivalent of a useless gun or armor. Otherwise clothing decay is useless.

The only thing that could possibly make sense to me is that they are being cautious, and if that's the case I can understand that. Get the condition recording correctly, iron out any bugs with that, and only then take the step of inserting actual object deletion routines. Wish they would have used an approach like that to vendors

Perhaps the 0/1000 counts only to stop tape mod bonuses.? That's my thought.

I heard a horrible rumor that this was intentional on part of the devs, however the source of this rumor "cound't remember" where he supposedly read this.

Anyone have any information on this?

I can see the dilemna you guys are faciing here, but tbh I hope it remains the way it is.

I got a 0/1000 Tusken headwrap and if it disappears on me I'll be gutted unless you guys can fix it... didnt think so.

Besides broken items are always good as display pieces in your house arent they.

I think that special quest items shouldn't decay, so I can sympathize with you. But, do you honestly think that most people whose clothes have decayed to 0 are going to put them on display in their house and buy new ones? Certainly not on my server!

I think that the items shouldn't disappear, and should be able to be dropped for decoration. But they shouldn't be equippable at 0 condition.

Quest rewards shouldn't decay, but I think that the loot drop clothing should still decay. It's supposed to be rare, so decay will keep it that way.

Anabelle, do you have any information on whether the Dev's are aware of this or not? I assume they are since there's been enough buzz about it, but I don't wanna start making guesses hehehe.

Is there any information that you are allowed to share about whether this is going to change, or whether this was intentional to keep people from being embarassed about their clothes dissapearing? People are still buying new clothes because they expect their old clothes to dissapear when the developers get around to fixing this bug, but your post is the first I have seen to indicate that they are even aware of the bug!

I crit failed a repair the other day and the item went to 1/1. And I saw a piece of armor on the Bazaar for 3k that was 0/17000! I feel bad for the sucker that buys that!
