I am glowing!
Now I just gotta figure out what the heck to do in the village (after meeting the old man and killing siths with my bodyguards).

Grats!I was lucky and already had all my badges when the publish went live. I also tested the quests out on TC2 and made a little FAQ if you'd like to get some ideas of what to do next. Most of the info I found on my own, but I have snagged bits and pieces from the forums to fill in the gaps.

Best thing is to read some of the guides and the FAQ in the jedi forum.
If you try to do the crafting quest then you will need some odd resources.
In addition to steel, aluminium, copper, carbonate ore, lubricating oil etc (all the usual stuff you can get on any planet). you will need Yavinian wind power, Rori Fibreplast, Talusian Fibreplast, Naboo moisture vapour. when i did it i had a backpack full of resources but not those 4 
so it was then a mad dash running from planet to planet to get them (i didnt know if there was a time limit)

What we did was gather them all, then took the schematic and make a factory run of it all. It's handy going there with 4 crates of components, instead of all those resources...

Yaaaay Chiana!! You go girl...
Best thing to get those naughty sith on your trail is to cross server boundaries. It's been noticed that when you take shuttles, log in, move in or out of a city, they appear. The server has to notice your presence, and that happens as it passes your data along to a new section of the map by one of these "border crossings"
Try taking shuttles, moving across the city outer bondary a few times, or just logging in and out, waiting 5 minutes and try again.

The Old Man smacked my @ss!!! 
I was minding my own business, wearing my 'Get Lucky' (tm) Hawtpants and up he comes. At least he gave me a crystal too...
Now I'm just waiting for the Sith too, took2 shuttles to pc's and ran around a bit. But then I was tired so I meditated in a nice little round gazebo on the outskirts of Theed. very peaceful.

I was on all day yesterday moving from Naboo to Tatooine!
My bodyguard and I ran from TB to Bestine not one sith... ran from Theed to my house, not one sith. I was shuttling all over the place yesterday and not one sith. I even went to corellia, rode out to a shop, then also went to Dantooine and travelled to a player city... not ONE sith ever showed up.

I think I am going to run around and collect some of this and hopefully the sith will show up at some point. I cannot start the path without them but at the same time I will get some of the items ahead of time.

The thing that worked for me (with both characters) was to shuttle to a player city and wait 10 - 15 minutes. not sure if that will help but give it a try.

apparently my shop attracts both old men AND sith. I did the shuttleing thing, ran to and from theed, and nothing. logged out in theed, drove to my shop and was checking factories when WHAPOW!
Actually, 1 fell over before I even started moving and the other one took about 2 hits. I am TKM, but they were really easy, as were the following people I checked out.
Good news...I got 3 free unlocks.
Bad news...I don't have the resources for the crafter thing yet.

Congrats to those who have gotten themselves started along the way!
It took about a day for each stage for me: made glowy, the next day right after I logged in the Old Man dropped by, then the next day (yesterday) the Sith attacked when I wandered outside of a player city right after logging in.
Headed out to the village. After being gifted with 4 free unlocks (woohoo!) I did the crafting quest without too much trouble. Then came some depressing math:
Fire up those harvesters (or break out your wallet), get a nice big drink, sit back, and enjoy the grind. It's going to take a while.

~ 54 - Times you have to drop off XP. (120k max)

don't revealing fleshwraps take more resources?
or the infiltration suit? Not sure if we get xp for using factory stuff...maybe someone could experiment?
