Hello,

Just for the sake of conversation, to hopefully realize I'm not alone, does anyone ever get that typical Uncooperative customer who just can't seem to be satisfied? You say "Would you like to purchase the jacket I am wearing?" "ya das sweet can u give it 2 me 4 free?"
"Well, maybe this one..."
"kewl."

"nah I dont liek it make me sumtin red n blak."
"You're going to have to pay for it."
"but u give me dis 1 4 free, why not da next 1?"
"Because these take resources to make."
"ya so wat so do da mouze droidz LOL"

I have had at least 10 conversations of this. They accept the itemI am wearing, put it on, and suddenly decide the item isn't good and try to take advantage of courtesy.

Anyone else have these problems?

Sadly, that's just the risk you run when you go out of your way to be nice to strangers. I don't give things away to people I don't know, after all, some clothes cost less than a single mission for a brand new player. If I'm going to give away money/items, it would be to my regular customers and higher tips for entertainers/medics, not to someone who has an equal chance of being nice as they do of being a complete fruitcake.

Someone whose first words to you are to request you give them a gift for free, has probably already told you all you need to know about them. Run away, as fast as you can!

Seriously, you can greatly enhance the fun-level of your time in the game, if you diminish the amount of time you spend with people who are disrespectful.

Try having this conversation.

Player: You make wookie battle stuff?

Me: Yes, most of it

Player: Cool, can you make me some?

Me: Sure, what would you like?

Player: I don't care. Give me whatever.

Me: (listing out items) Do any of these sound good?

Player: Yah, awesome! Give it to me!

Me: It comes out to 3500 credits.

Player: Um, hang on... um I don't have money. Can you tip me money and I can pay you?

Me: (What the Hell?!?) No I can't do that, sorry. But I will more than gladly make you an entire set at a discount if money is a big problem.

Player: Oh, so can you make me a house for free then?

Me: No. I am not an architect, but someone in my guild is, but he won't make them for free, nor will any other architect.I have to go.

Player: Oh wait, where ya goin?

Me: Home

And guess what? The kid FOUND me!!! AUGH... BLOCK! *hehe*

I've gotten the "wookie clothes" scenario. It went a bit like this...

Wookie: hey u make wookie cloths

(No, I make Synth Cloths. Twit.)

Me: Yes. =)

Wookie: how much 4 a set

(Ohhhhhh....great.)

Me: Well it depends on what pieces you'd want to purchase. I have displays shown at my boutique.

Wookie: yea i know ur vendor doesnt have ne wookie cloths

(Must...resist...)

Me: Ah...I must need to restock then. Sorry 'bout that. If you find something you like, though, just email me and I'll be happy to custom an outfit for you.

Wookie: how much

Me: Again, it depends on the pieces you choose. The prices are shown in the display.

(Yes, I have my prices shown in the displays...and still get asked how much something costs. *sigh*)

Wookie: are u a master

(At the time of this conversation...I wasn't.)

Me: No, not yet...but almost. =)

Wookie: oh so u can do sockets??

Me: Yes...

Wookie: ok so how much for a socketed set of wookie cloths?? u don't have ne on ur vendor

I've had only 1 customer like this that I can recall, he wasextremely demanding asking for all kinds of irrational and impossible items, rude, and I was *this* close to ignoring him and banning him from my shop, but after coming up with an outfit that he was happy with, and offering him a nice discount just to get rid of him, and then having him tell me he had no money whatsoever (he actually expected that I'd just give him it all for free!), I simply put the custom clothing I had made for him in my vendor, and promised to "reserve" it for him until such time as he could pay. He actually ended up coming back around an hour later and buying all of it, so it worked out in the end.

Most of the customers I get are the exact opposite. Very large pocketbooks, very curtious and patient, and very very happy when you can offer them something that they really like. Once they are standing in your store, wearing a new outfit that they really love, and feel that you have been attentive to their needs, money negotiations always go very very smoothly in my experience.

I just got a stalker now! This guy is really exploiting my generosity, he keeps sending me mails in game telling me that he wants a "Robe of honor, can u give it 4 free?"

I said, "I cannot make Robes of Honor yet, I'm sorry."

He replies, "AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!111"

He replies again, "were r u now?"

I said, "I only do special orders on the weekend."

He replies, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

He replies again, "can u make me a doctors dress 4 free?"

I said, "No, and please contain all of your messages in *one* email."

Now my e-mail is flooded with this guy just BEGGING to get these clothes out of me. I guess some people will do whatever they can to milk us for all we're worth.

Umm, /ignore, and for !$@#'s sake, stop responding!

If someone is treating you poorly, and you keep responding to them, you're just encouraging them. Being a nice person does not mean making your own time in-game a stressful experience just so disrespectful people don't think badly of you...

if he wouldn't stop harassing you even after you tell him to, /report him.

Well, typically if a stranger initiates a converstaion with me using the 'Internet Abbreviation' form of speak, I switch off immediately. I've found that if a player / person doesn't have the patience to type an entire sentence using actuall words and correct grammer, then they are most likely not going to excercise the greatest level of patience and understanding when it comes to negotiating for clothes.

For example:

Customer: Hey u make cloths?

Me: No.

Customer: Hey, u got ne free stuff u give me?

Me: No.

Customer: y not?

Me: /ignore

But then again, I can be kind of a butt.

I was standing around outside the starport with a friend of mine, and someone was /shouting something like "can ne1 teach me hunting 2?"

My friend said "I can, but only if you can pass a spelling test."

It took the other guy a few moments to understand, but then he got it, and said
"Can anyone teach me Hunting 2?"

Whereupon my friend happily did.

For whatever reason, I seem to have been extremely lucky in avoiding "problem customers." I've never gotten to the point where I had to even consider putting someone on /ignore, actually. I seldom get people upset and trying to haggle prices, with a response like "Well, I'll have to come back when I get some more money" being much more common, thankfully.

The only real semi-problem type I've run into is what seems to be a peculiar sub-breed of Entertainer that I think of as the "Short Attention Span Theater Dance Troupe." Always female characters in my experience, they come off as exceptionally needy, clingy, and a bit self-centered. Not to the point of *total* obnoxiousness, but just enough to be annoying. I suspect they're actually teen or pre-teen girl players, and they're mostly harmless, so I try to cut them a little slack in the hope that they'll gather more clues with time.

I feel your pain!
As a medic I was standing in the med center when this "gentleman" walks up to me and says

"HEAL ME!"

I replied "um... yeah I will get right on that..." and then went back to healing the patient who had actually already tipped me, a few moments later, the same person says:

"Hey I thought U were gonna get right on it!"

I just replied "LOL" and started healing the next person that came into the med center. the one advantage to being a medic is that when someone is rude like that sometimes you get the pleasure of watching them bleed out all over the med center floor... yeah I guess it is cruel but I can relate to your pains

I guess it is not class specific having to deal with Moron's but it does sound like your class has to take the brunt of them at times part of the reason that my other account is only 3/4/2/3 tailor I guess

Tailor: Thank you, it's actually a skirt and shirt.
Entertainer: How much would it cost.
Tailor: 1K, I most likely can't make it here.
Entertainer: Cool.
Tailor: What color would you like. (Thinking if she says White, I'll just give her what I have on.)
Entertainer: Blue
Tailor: BRB (I run out to go make the clothing, and come back)
Tailor: I got a FREE Present/Tip for you.
(opens a trade window, and I drop the clothes in).
Entertainer: Can't you make something S*uty.
Tailor: I'm sorry but I was giving you Free cloths and you complain.

(The person goes on to try and trade with me, e-mails me, etc... I'm not about to give you free clothes after complaining to me. I just turned to another entertainer and gave the clothes to that person instead.)

Or this is one I get all the time...

Customer: Can you make me some clothing.
Tailor: Yes.
Customer: Oh good, I want something nice for my husband.
Tailor: Okay. Any ideas of colors.
Customer: Can you make me a flesh wrap.
Tailor: No I can not, but I can make several nice dresses.
Customer: No thank you.

Is it just me, but I get this all the time. People who want to look 'nice' for thier husband, or getting clothes for their wife. Yet what they always want is the sl*tyest item in the game. Where does Nice = Sl*ty? I just also have a feeling that the woman who come to me with stories about looking 'nice' for their husbands, are just guys that want to dress up their female avatars. (Shakes Lekku).

Another thing that happened, while I was on as my alt.

Entertainer: Will someone give me a Lekku Wrap!
Less then 5 minutes later...
Entertainer: Will someone give me a Lekku Wrap!
Me: Lekku Wraps are expensive clothing, people are not likely to just give them to you.
(ignored, and soon followed by...)
Entertainer: Will someone give me a Lekku Wrap!
Me: Please stop asking for one, no one is going to just giving you one.
Entertainer: Will someone give me a Lekku Wrap!

I left the area after that.
