Thread: Wedding attire for males especially.

Wow, it sure is tough coming up with a tuxedo or suit looking outfit.

I just made master a few days ago, and I have never gotten very many custon orders, although I offer to do custom work...but anyways today I had 2 different custom orders. 1 was no problem, but the second is for a wedding.

I have figured out what the bride will wear (as long as she likes it) but for the groom I am pretty stumped. I know that I have seen people posting about this, but I can't pinpoint the thread.

My customers want a longopen-jacket look in black for the groom. I am making clothes and trying them on, but nothing looks right. (Maybe it would look better on a male model...I might have to get my fiance to log on and help me figure this out.) The gunman's duster looks sort of casual. Right now I was trying a gunman's duster, suit shirt, comfortable slacks, and dress shoes. Does anyone have any other suggestions, or can you point me to the thread where it is discussed?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've done Comfortable Slacks (I just call them Suit Pants since they're so nice!), White Suit Shirt with Black Lapel/Cuffs, and a Black Decorative Vest with White Trim. It's a shame the vest covers the shirt's lapel though.

Instead of the vest, you can also try a Dress Uniform Jacket with Black shoulders and a white armor plate in the front over the shirt and pants.

I'd be interested in other ideas as well!

I did a wedding on Sunday and the groom wore an outfit that looks similar to the Marine dress outfit in RL.

He had on thin striped pants in blue with a red stripe, a black suit jacket, black dress shoes, and white gloves. I know it isn't an open jacket but looks nice.

He could also wear a dress uniform jacket over a formal shirt with dress slacks and uniform boots, looks pretty fancy!

He could also op for an all black cold weather jacket, with a suit shirt under it, black comfortable slacks and dress shoes.

One of my favorite looks is the trim lined shirt with dress slacks, boots and gloves... no jacket. But make the shirt in a pale blue or pale gold color with soft grey pants and black shoes. That shirt looks very nice on men. It also looks good under a cloak on men.'

Thanks for your suggestions!

I talked to the bride, and she definitely wants him in a long open jacket. She said something rugged looking, maybe a duster.

So here is what I have so far...it looks pretty good:

Black gunman's duster

Black comfortable slacks

Black dress slippers

Black leather gloves

White suit shirt with grey/black trim (I couldn't get the trim to look veryblack)

I like the suit shirt with a jacket over it...it makes the collar look sort of bow-tie-ish.

Now I wish all these shades of black would match.

For the bride I am considering a white grand ballgown, white dress slippers, and an optional white decorativehead-dress (some people like these, some do not.)

I just put the suit shirt on my fiance and now I see a tie..hehe. Guess I had never seen it on a man. At first I thought it was a necklace, I couldn't figure it out.

i use the same comfortable slacks/suit pants combo, but with a black pilot's jacket. a tad puffy, but gives it a "black tux jacket" look

If you want to think outside the box, there's the suit jacket. On males it looks nice and it takes color really well (the red looks particularly good.)

I'd recommend Link-Steel Reinforced Gloves over Leather Gloves, but that's just me. Despite the name they don't look particularly like metal in black or white. Also remember that if gloves are worn with a black tux, they're usually white gloves (or whatever the primary color of the suit shirt is), not black. Black gloves would be more for a limo driver, consierge, or especially well-dressed Mafia hitman...

And, um, I assume you meant Dress Shoes instead of Dress Slippers. Unless the Devs have lightened the restrictions on cross-dressing for men, anyway.
