Thread: Tailoring Technical Bug Issues (v1.1):
(New and Improved, man I wish I had an edit button and I could just edit the prior thread!)
This thread is to report and catalog any TECHNICAL bugs that have arisen regarding tailoring. This should not include such things that effect game balance or are hopes for added features (like the removal of durability or the want of more schematics). There will be a different thread for those.
Here is a current list of Major Technical Issues that still need to be addressed (#1 being highest priority):
1) Tailoring and Armor Smithing. There is an error when you interact with a public or private crafting station and you have mastered tailoring and have at least Novice Armor Smithing. The tool will report an error that no schematics exist. The Tool functions fine if away from the influence of a craft station.
2) Necklaces only are visible while either dropped on the ground or worn. This makes it impossible to craft or choose a style while within the game.
3) Miss-Assignment of Colors. Certain schematics do not assign colors correctly to items allowing for the majority of the item to remain unaffected by the customization. Schematics include:
Pocketed Shorts
Desert Crawlers
Sigiled Waist Wrap
Dress Jacket
Thin Pleated Skirt
Simple Waist Wrap
Luxurious Gown
4) Clothing Not Equipping with Backpacks. Certain articles of clothing other than bandolier will not equip with a Backpack on. This includes:
Grand Healers Robe
Grand Ball Gown
Luxurious Gown
5) Clothing Color Pallet Displaying White as only option for color 1 or 2 depending. This Includes:
Fighter Flight Suit
Heavy Flight Suit
Trader Flight Suit
Transport Flight Suit
Luxurious Gown
Pleated Dress
Light Bustier
6) Certain Items are erroneously placed on the sort, lumped into a 'miscellaneous’ category instead of having their own. This includes:
Long Gloves of all Types
Skirts of all Types
Gunman's Duster is not a Robe
Smocks are Not a Dress
Exotic Leotard is Not a Dress
7) Graphical Glitches. These items are glitches visual appearance in some way.
Immense Gemstone Necklace + Exotic Leotard / Flesh Wrap = Missing Chest area.
Low Cut Top has a dent in left side of exposed torso area.
Lekku Ys'rak and Twi'lek Noble's Crest display a white scalp patch on Males
Revealing Metal Bikini has a white blotch on the Left cup
Belts in general do not fit correctly around the waist, usually looking very bulky or floating inches away from the waist. They also expand to wear over the jacket where they should wear under the jacket or robe or fit snug instead of bulky.
8) Eronious Race Restrictions. The Grand Healers Robe will not wear with a Bothan or Rodian Female.
9) Cargo Pockets.Ones that are Crafted do not have any storage ability. Dropped Cargo Pockets can not be crafted with. Bandoliers crafted with cargo pockets do not have any storage.
Please add to this if you come across more! (and I'm working on confirming the socketless item issue please list any more items you think do not create with sockets)
*hugs*
While I find many of the issues above very annoying, there is one that tops my list as the most alarming. I would be willing to wait for all of the others, just to have this one fixed.
At least for me, there is a chronic problem ofitems that have had ownership recently transferred (purchased) "disappearing" from inventory when crossing over server boundaries. This means someone stops by my shop, buys items, heads back to town (hence across the server boundary that separates the town from the land outside).... Next thing I know I get a panicked tell "Allthe clothesI bought from you just vanished!!"
If I go to their location, I can see the clothes they bought still on them - but they can't. Graphical/databse bug.
All I can tell them from experience is to log off the game for 10-15 minutes, long enough for their character to go away in the game world. It is normally fixed after they log back on.
In one case, I had a customer cross back and forth across the server boundary (btw, this was near the newbie bridge south of Theed) and watched as his clothes disappeared and reappeared, disappeared and reappeared....
I am afriad this reflectsbadly on mewith my customers, as an inept tailor, faulty clothes, etc etc, even though the game is filled with bugs. I find myself wondering if I should put a legal disclaimer on all my items "Warning: Log off game for 15 minutes after purchase." I feel guilty for selling products that do this to customers...
I totally agree but it is a merchant issue, not a tailor issue.
What I want is the possibility to sort items per name in the crafting box.
Oh, and another more minor annoyance. Anyone else feel the item descriptions should include restrictions such as:
- some gloves cannot be worn with jackets
- items that have race/sex restrictions, and the details of what they are
- items that cannot be worn with backpacks/bandoliers, etc.
One complaint I hear from customers purchasing off my vendors is "I bought something, but I can't wear it!" Or some customers have been quite disappointed after buying i.e. Cold Weather Gloves and finding that they couldn't wear them with their favorite jacket...
I believe this bug was just fixed on test center last night.

Ah, yes! I absolutely must second sortable items as well.
Socketless items: Tech Pack, Doctor's Dress, Light bustier
My personal frustration is color bugs...those are top of my list. ![]()
I can not seem to get any sockets on one of the master tailor flighsuits (not the heavy or fighter, one of the others).
Take care,
Kyllara
This bug slowly progresses as you gain more schematics.
The first time you run into it, you will loose schematics at a private crafting station, but at a public station, or away from a station, you will be able to operate normaly.
After learning more schematics, you'll have a different number of schematics at a private station, loose most of them at a public, but be fine away from any station.
Then eventualy, it's all screwed up :-P
It seems the problem occurs when the crafting tool is asked to display more than 256 schematics. And I know I have just over 300 standing at a private crafting station now.
I have to throw out, one solution might be to create a new armor crafting tool, and limit the current tool to clothing only. As long as they both work with the current crafting stations, that will be fine. That will drop the number of schematics per tool down, but they will still need to fix the real problem before they give tailors more schematics, or else it will happen all over again.
Grand Ball Gown
Luxurious Gown
What kind of fashion freak would want to wear a backpack with a Formal Gown? LOL I'm just bustin on ya here, no malice intended

On number 6, please also use the 'wookie garb' clothing category for all wookie clothes. I find this the worst problem of all mismatched clothing. I currently have to keep a separate vendor who only holds wookie clothing, so that non wookies don't mistakenly buy wookie clothes or vice versa. This would solve that problem immediately, and allow me to consolidate back to one vendor.
Thats a wish, not a bug.
I don't know... I'd call it the **edit** child of a bug and a feature request. If there didn't already exist a wookie garb category, then it would clearly be a feature request. But there is a Wookie Garb category, yet wookie clothes don't appear in it. That sounds like a bug to me
I'll have to disagree and say the wookie garb is a BUG, not a wish. Great thread, and great list, but I too feel that the clothing should be placed under Wookie Garb. It's a valid clothing selection now, you're adding things to this list such as moving long gloves to handwear, and skirts to skirts...I certainly see moving wookie clothing to the existing 'Wookie Garb' selection. The fact that it didn't get put there was a bug. That's also the biggest hit of all the moves, and would give us the most improvement, for changing clothingcategories. The rest are just nice fixes, the wookie change is helpful.
Please please consider adding it to the bug list.
Vandessa, here's a good one for you. Have a friend, preferrably a human lady, buy a Grand Healer's Robe. Then all the guys stand behind her and you in front. Have her bow a nice deep bow to you. Her totally bare bottom (I mean totally bare) will stick thru the back of the garment. She will possibly be embarrased but it is hillarious and great for a good laugh. Wonder when they will fix this one and all that you mentioned in your most comprehensive list, if they ever will fix anything at all.
Today they showed us a player riding on a Dew Back. To me this represents forging on and building a 2nd story on a house with a cracked foundation. And it is just another perk for the combatant while the craft people stand in the back wings unattended.
