I got an order for 30 Rebel Flightsuits. I usually charge 8K per suit and I wondering if I should stick by my price, or lower it since they want to buy a large quantity?

If they pay in advance ,,sure ,,if not,,you are risking a lot of time and materials ,,,it they dont buy all they order

15-20% off sounds fair ,,and use a factory to make the items,,no failures,,not much crafting time,,,

Well, I screwed myself once again...Just when I think that I ask all the questions and have it all figured out - I have to bonk myself in the head and wonder...why?

For some reason I was assuming this large order of suits were for a PA and I did lower my price since the customer wanted them in a large quantity which he agreed with. I find out later that this guy will be putting them on his vendor to sell, which I'm sure he'll charge more than I charged him, thus he making a profit off of me, which I hate because it makes me feel used.

Plus to add to my sorrows - I made one for him to see a sample of the coloring and when I craft clothes, I always add *by Avaleena*. To add injury to insult my customer does not want me to tag the suits. I politely told him that since I started out as a tailor, I have always added my name to the my clothes because that is MY tag. MY signature to get MY name out there and to keep it out there...bah! I'm such a big dummy...

oh i would not sell to him now, no way. next time though he will just lie and say its for a PA im sure. They get tricky.

Don't give discounts unless it's a freind, a PA you are cool with or a repeat customer who always spends alot. That's the easy way to do it.

As for him selling your goods off his vendor... um... that's just pathetic. If he's buying off you to sell then what does he care if your name is on them??

I'd rather have 3 dedicated and great customers than have 300 who are horrible and do stuff like this. I play for fun, not to be treated like a middle man hawking my wares for others to sell. hehe

Now if he would have come to you saying "I'd like to sell your items on my vendor, what is your price so I know if I can make a profit on them?" I'd say at least he was honest with his intent, and you knew upfront his expetations.

Thanks everyone for the heartfelt posts. The customer has already pre-paid for these, before I have even made them so I feel obligated to finish his request. I plan on making this batch for him and that is it for him...moving on to the next order

Chiana: Yes, I have started to make some items, I really want to feel comfortable and experiment more before putting anything up for sale. I have though, if anyone asks - direct them to your vendor because I remember you saying that you made up a bunch of clothes and have a vendor stocked full of BE tailored items...hope that's cool?
