Thread: New Schematics MAJOR EXPLOIT??

Is it true that using on of your limited uses on a temporary schematic that you can make ANOTHER schematic so you can make as many of the item as you want??!?!?!?!?

This hardly seems fair if true and needs to be addressed immediately if it is.

If not, the new schematics will become worthless as everyone will end up with the special items and not just the people that have earned it.

you can make a factory schematic but thats very different from what you're implying. The factory schematic will only use specific ingredients. Has to be the exact metal..chemical...batch of synth cloth....and most importantly the same serial heavy duty leather / crystaline clothing treatment. Best you can do is about a run of 10 backpacks for one schematic use. Not bad compared with some of the weaponsmith ones that I heard were making runs of hundreds per use.

Ok, well still an exploit that needs to be dealt with. A limit of 3 should be just that. Being able to make 15 from a schematic of 3 is just wrong.

You're crying fire, and there's not even smoke. Look, schematics are easy to get. Go to one of the themeparks, do the missions, get schematics, no biggie. It's easy, you need only minimal skills, and you will always get them. I've got lots and lots of schematics that people just give me. The valuable things are the components. I don't know how large a stack of identical components it's possible to get, but I've heard of like stacks of 5 or 6, most times it 1-3. These components are traded on the galaxy forums for 100's of k. So nobody in their right mind is going to burn 1-2 components, just to make a schematic to do a run of 1-2 items to circumvent the 3 use schematic thingy, that's just not a reasonable thing to do. And if for some reason someone wanted to do that, do we really care?

Hah, I love the name ArthurDent, I'm rereading the series as we speak.

But I don't see how the new schematics are an expoilt if you send them to the datapad. think abotu it. For a crafting Apron, you need X amount of Heavy Duty Leather with the SAME SERIAL NUMBER as well as factory crate crafting tools (whichever apron it is) and of course factory synth cloth. It's too much of a pain to find matching Leathers, since they only come from looting thugs. If anyone could make factory anything out of the new schematics, I salute them for doing the impossible.

hehe I do runs of factory made schematic items a lot. It's the best way to get the most out of the schematics.

I've personally sold 20 of the backpacks, if I'd stuck to the 3 limit then I'd be out of schematics and sold about 15 or so. The schematics can cost me upto around 300k so I try to make the best use of them I can. Weaponsmith's Toolsets ones are hard to get on Chimaera, not many for auction so I factory run off them so I get 6+ items per schematic.

The more I make the less they're worth. Anyway there's a demand which is why people are trying to make the best use of them they can.

The devs have covered this, it isn't an exploit.

Those new Architect painting schemes in Bestine are only TWO use, but use no special/loot components. SO people have been make huuuuge runs of them. Granted anyone can go and buy the schematic for 48k.
Arthur: you need a little more than "minimal skills" if you're soloing these parks I did them with Pistoleer 1242 and still had some trouble with a few missions, mainly in the Reb park. Jabba's are fairly easy after the first one.

Well - my .02 fwiw - I don't think it was necessary for the schematics to be limited AND special dropped components. One or the other would have been more than sufficient, although as you point out - factory runs could be made with common materials. It's not like these are all that useful in most cases - and in a couple - downright, ummm - mistakes - given they give skills that aren't even used.

But hey - I'm a bio engineer - we had tissues for skills that got taken out in beta for months - I should be used to that - right?

This is not an exploit at all. This is why multiple items of the same serial number are so highly priced - so we can make more than one item using a factory run. This is how it was MEANT to work.

Are you positive about that? The schematic just says 1 crystalline clothing treatment, nothing about "identical" or "from a factory crate."

Arthur: when I hear minimal I think starting skill sets Marksman-Pistol 4 would be minimal to me hehe.
Tushai: the leotards do only require 1 CCT per use, but it may be the factory needs ones that match the one used in the schematic...

Its not the schematic, but the factory itself which won't work unless all the ingredients are identical. Everything has a serial number and all the ingredients of the same type have to have the same serial number for a factory to accept it.
