Thread: Swordsman + Rifleman?
yup, a lot of people are jumping on that bandwagon - shoot head at long range, smack head close up. Pretty lethal combo.
i am an imperial swordsman and rifleman, and i believe it is a wonderful profession. I would reccomend it to anyone aspiring to serve the emperor. if ever in tatooine on tarquinas /tell monane

How about:
Master Rifleman
Master Swordsman
Novice Scout [3,0,2,0](Terrain negotiation and bonus to hit creatures)
Novice Medic [0,0,3,0](Able to use Stim Pack C's that have beenexperimented to medicine use 30)
250 skill points
I started out as Novice Swordsman, Novice Rifleman with some Scout and Medic thrown in. However, in my mind Rifleman turned out to be a red herring. It's a shame too because I invested a lot of time into it.
The exp gains were slow, the rifles weren't available, the damage taken at close range is ludicris, the inaccuracy at close and medium range abysmal, and the walking/running while carrying a rilfe extremely slow. All this made for a VERY unenjoyable experience for me. Ranged weapons can be fun, but rifle just wasn't fun.
I realize this is purely subjective. Some people will like the long range mind bleeds and headshots. But for me the strategy of Rifleman consisted of learning to mindshot, headshot, warning shot, headshot, warningshot, ...ad infinitum. While its a powerful combo, it just isn't very exciting and is slow going.
In the end I gave up all of marksman (hell i was practically master marksman too!) to get Doctor. Now I am actually having fun :-) By the way, from my experience Stim Cs do not require experimentation to get the medical use rating down to 30. However Stim Ds do require experimentation to get the med use down to 40. Pharm IV is a must for people who just want a little bit ofmedic.

I'm the same template and it works great for me. The trick is to make your rifle, scout and swordsman skills work together.
Go prone, plug three or four rifle shoys from 65m. As the beast charges toward you, stand and throw a glow wire trap (melee debuff), when he's at 5m switch to sword and finish him off.
You may have been grinding rifleman and hence were reluctant to switch to traps and swords. Dont grind. Play it natural and it all comes together on its own. I would never use rifle at less than 30m,that is ludicrous!![]()
