Is it true that armor does infact lower damage? I read somewhere that it did and if so can someone please explain?

sure it does. Get nice chitin with 50% kinetic and turn combat messages on. You will see 75% damage reduction fighting common targets.

Just be carefull with specials while wearing armor, you will kill yourself without decent enchaces. Look for doc who buff you, or find chef for food if you want use specials a lot.

I think what Seawolf means is that our Dammage Output is lowered. Atleast that's how I read his post.

Which ofcourse is not true in the direct sense, but due to haveing high penalties on the secondary pools due to the encumberance of the armor you might/will end up doing fewer specials then you would without armor as the cost of a Special Attack goes up due to a lower Strength, Quickness and Focus.

The trade off in higher defense more than makes up for any "reduction" in damage output due to fewer specials.
