Swordsman Archive

My plan all along has been to go Master Swordsman and Novice Rifleman. However, since rifles at that kind of skill level just aren't good anymore, I'm considering dropping my rifle skills, picking up novice pistoleer and getting pistol whip. Then, as someone who is halfway to Master Swordsman, I will finally have a melee knockdown move.

Has anyone else done this? I feel like this is the only way I will be able to compete in PvP.

My feeling is that if you are able to close to melee as a Master Heavy Swordsman, you don't need pistol whip to knock somebody down, they are already dead. The trick is catching them and being able to land an attack without getting the out of range message, not knocking them down.

My feeling, from the experience of fighting BH, pistoleers and smugglers in melee range many times...is that if I close to melee range, they pistol whip me once and I am already dead.

Against the majority of other players, all I need to do is lunge them. But we have nothing to counter or compete with a knockdown. Sweep and Area Attack are useful but they can shoot us while kneeling or prone.

ya i agree. we do need a kd move for also aganist other brawlers. I have 1/1/0/1 on the skill tree and my fencin friend can beat me by doin dizzy then lunge some im on my back. i need somethin to compete aganist him so i can get a few hits off. KD would be nice.

I am going for master swordsman, and was doing the rifleman thing too, till I figured it it was worthless against tougher mobs. Sincethen I have dropped rifleman, and I am now halfway to ch master. The rest of my points are goingtowards medic....but not the org chem tier.....I just buy good stim c. Swordsman/Ch IMO is much better then Swordsman/Rifleman

Lastnight, I had 2 creature pets.....3 reb pets, and my probot out all at once.....pretty good team....I hardly had to fight at all.

lol you hardly had to fight i believe that lol. Ya i decieded rifle is not as useful as CH. So i decided to go CH and master swordsman. with like others medical skills. lol

2HLunge is the answer. Start working on your other melee skills.

ya but it kinda sucks to have to get master brawler for kinda one move ugh time to get a calculator out lol.
