Thread: pike or swords

I am a master doc, with either master pike or master 2 handed swords....i want to become a loot hunter so ill be fighting alot of npc's etc.....which would you reccomend? pros? cons? thanks

Go swordsman, its loads of fun. and if you hunting NPC's its definitly the way to go IMO.

Swordsman is known as the best PvE melee profession, and in my experience that might well be true, though I have yet to be a Master Pikeman. However I have relied greatly on knocking my opponents down, and Swordsman has no KD move, so you need Master Brawler for the lunge2, or a secondary profession with a KD you can switch to and from in battle.
with the upcoming death-to-warcry campaign, fighting NPCs will remain possible as well only using brawler skills not in Swordsman. Without the warcry keeping them down, you need to use one-handed dizzy1 to do so.
Fighting creatures will be far more difficult without them staying down for 20 seconds, but we do decent damage to remain good I suppose.

we can in fact knock down our opponents with out other skills. two of our attacks, 2hhit3 and area3 randomly dizzy, additionaly we have an excess posture change moves. by paying attention in combat and not just spaming away. wait for the dizzy to stick then liberaly apply posture change till that fall.
