Thread: Search Feature Seems Broke...so old timer questions.

Ello all, im coming back to SWG after leaving it during Pub9 . When i left it...my toon was a MCH some doc and some swords. I used to love swords, i was around when they nerfed the area KD for swords blah blah blah. My questions are:

1. what would be the best FS grind swords temp that will still allow me to do well in pvp(if i was forced to pvp while FS grinding). Keep in mind my toon is a Wookie.

2. Would MS/MD rest in the defensive tk mods be good?(i ask because i like the buffs from doc)

3. How would MS/MCH with some healing rate?

4. With MS/MD and rest defensive TK trees, would i need to worry about the pets in CH to tank for me?

5.Seeing as my toon is a Wookie, should i just go MTK/MS and 4000 doc because wooks cant wear armor?(at least that i know)

6. Why pick MTK/MS over MS/MD restTK defensive mods?

7. The buffs from the Doc line REALLY appeal to me, as well as the healing. Is the MTK/MS REALLY all that much better than MS/MD with the TK Def Mods that give you the improved CoB?


Thanks in advance guys, i havent played in a very long time and i realize there are alot of questions there heh. I just dont wanna be too far behind the power curve.


One more question...my wook is an Imp with 2 At-Sts...how do those work now? and are faction missions still inferior to normal missions? Thanks again!

yeah, if you mean the rest in the line with Improved center of being

if youre looking for a good template thatd do good pvp wise, that wouldnt be the best option. especially with MCH. not like it use to be way back.


and i don't think you could be able to have CH with MS/MD and some TK, but even then, nah

wooks can wear armor! hehe, read up on it. but MTK/MS 4000 doc is great, with FS grinding you wont have to worry bout armor. pvp, probably better off with armor, since you can slive it with armorbreak resist.


whatever suits your playstyle, both are good, both have doc. i personally gotta have imp. CoB. i'm not sure if your going for more pve FS grind or all pvp, or both. but there are better templates than double mastery imo.


with MD you get great healing abilities, and buffs =great for pvp. you also don't have to have MD if you don't want to. 4004 doc suits well for me and alot others for PvP.


AT-STs kinda useless now


my 2cents, i bet there's alot others that know a bit more and can give you more info.

Keep in mind my toon is a Wookie. getting most or master swords, with some tk for defense (0400) and some fencer for debuffs and doc 4000 for healing you will do pretty well.

Would MS/MD rest in the defensive tk mods be good?(i ask because i like the buffs from doc) yes, but now mdoc buffs are only +10% health (+300 for cl 80), +25 speed (that is good), +action and mind regen, and poison buffs. poison is the only mdoc only buff (not too important) and all the other buffs you can get from 0004 doc.

3. How would MS/MCH with some healing rate? eh, its ok. if you like CH you can make it do well.

4. With MS/MD and rest defensive TK trees, would i need to worry about the pets in CH to tank for me? no, you can be an amazing tank without pets.

5.Seeing as my toon is a Wookie, should i just go MTK/MS and 4000 doc because wooks cant wear armor?(at least that i know) they can wear armor, and i know that in pub 9 they could also. they have more choices of armor now.

6. Why pick MTK/MS over MS/MD restTK defensive mods? i would take temp #2... buffsand better heals over free armor i would say

(innate armor is 6000 = 48%, and battle armor can be 6500 = 52% or so) also, tks most important line is 0400, and it is not worth getting master, IMO.

also, i would say not to get tkm. even if you are grinding, you can still use whatever innate armor you have (you get 3000 from just 0400) and still do fine. when you need to, you can put the armor on. buffs are not as strong as before CU. foods are now more important for pvp, and if you can get good combos, that will help a lot for duels and small pvp.


armor break is a swordsman move which increases damage by 25%. crafted armor can have 75% resist to it, making it work less often. crafted armor is better than innate in general, but costs more. (1 mil on my server)


at-sts are easily soloable by most high lvls, and only help really in small pvp.


i think only doc 4004 is worth it (4000 is great heals, and 0004 is for the buffs i listed)


if you get just the defenseive part of tk, some doc, mswords, and either fencer of pike, you will not only have a good FS temp, but a great pvp temp as well.

you wont get CL 80 with that, but you still have room to get tier 3 in whatever line. getting like 3xxx or xxx3 tk will get you CL 80

Great info thanks alot for responding guys. So if i master swords...go 4004 doc and 0400 tk..what other prof do yall suggest i take?


Also, will i still be cl80 without being master in both doc and swords?
