OK apologies all around if this has been asked or covered before.

I am a master swordsman and 3/2/3/2 fencer. What would be good battle gear besides a full suit of comp armor.

basically I want a new look with decent defense for PvE (I generally avoid PvP)

Any info will be appreciated even if ya just take the time to pint out another thread where this was addressed before hand.

Swordsman uniform post started by darth toast was helpful but many failed to say if outfits they listed were casual or combat wear.

I'm just looking for a little clarification.

IF you don't like comp armor, try Ubese. Ubese is great against anythign with Kinetic damage type, and is much lower encumbrance. It will suck if you are fighting a Nightsister with a Vibro Lance though.

You could go with a 4 piece comp suit (helm, gloves, boots, chest) That will help with encum. With those 4 pieces they take all the hits as if you were wearing a full suit.

im master swords/master fencer/master brawler/ 4-0-0-2 tka and all i wear for general grinding is ubese pants, ubese helmet, ubese armor shirt (with my speed attachments in it) ubese armor gloves, left and right ubese bracer and ubese boots (or no standard black boots if i dont have any ubese) and i havent came close to dying in the last month or so. stalkers, jantas, pikets, thunes, kamuriths, baznitches, all are more then takeable with not even a full suit of ubese

of course your template build might dictate otherwise, but thats a general idea. for general grinding i NEVER use composite. becuase half the things we grind on anyway use kinetic damage, a 125k suit of ubese is enough protection and better on your wallet.

sorry but unless you like to buy alot of armor ubese is not good ( unless you fighting low damage creatures or grinding ), i can go thru a ubese jacket in 3 hours of ns hunting ( before they gave em weopons )before i have to repair and you can get 80% kinetic padded which isnt bad but doesnt have alot of condition either and doesnt last long, now granted comp doesnt last too long either but it has more condition and you can go longer without repair, and the best thing is if you happen to get jumped by npcs with guns you dont have to worry about getting killed specially if you in the geo cave and droidiekas are shooting you.

just go with the chest,boots,gloves,helm and get all encum slice if your worried about encumbrence although in todays game it dont matter much.

i do like the padded chest though for fighting krayts or kimos

exactly. for grinding i wear ubese (and usually not even a full suit) but for anything more then xp grinding, i go with composite (nit sisters, smc's, geo caves, etc..)

havent played with padded or tantel, but i do hear good things about the padded armor

Sadly, Composite armor is the only"uber" pvp armor untill the combat rebalance...
