Ok, one week ago I got swordsman as my first holo-profession. I checked this board for tips and help, got alot of great info.

I bought the Axe you get Certed for in 2handed-1 in Brawler, and used this to get from novice Brawler to 2handed-2 .. Then I got 2h Curved Sword, and used this well into Swordsman. Began using the Hammer when almost master.

So how did I do it?

Well, first of all I'm a MCH. I grouped with my two maulers, and got Huurton Howler pack-missions.. These got lots of mobs in it, give around 3-4k xp each, so each mission will bring you 25-30k swordsman xp. Take two to same direction, and you will get 100k within 1 hour.. Nice, isn't it?

I did this for 3-4 hours each evening, sometimes buffed + muon gold, sometimes not. When I wasn't using buffs I used my pets, when I was buffed (well into the tree) I solo'ed everything. You can take 3 huurtons down with the mind-attack... But it doesn't harm having a pet behind ya just in case. Oh btw, your mind get's kinda short to zero when attacking many huurtons at a time /w specials, so be aware.

Other types of missions is the Voritors ... they give even more xp, but are harder to manage. They kill faster.

Huurtons had some great hide (dunno if they still got it) .. 20-25 cpu.. I've earned around 500k on that hide.

So - to sum it up. Use a pet if you can... take huurton/picket-missions in the same direction.. They're around lvl38-4x ... (Group with someone/something!)

And - have a goal. I had a goal to take one box each night.. Some nights I got two because I went hunting with my guild. Keep up the pace! 2-4 hours is enough, really.

Good luck!

Oh btw - my exam went ok. I won't fail, anyways ... Java-programming isn't that bad.

Not to spoil your parade, but I ground Master Swordsman in two and a half days. I bought 80% resist armor, moun gold, a two handed axe, a cleaver, and a hammer. I started by getting buffs on all 6 physical stats, then taking out plains tusk cats on naboo to get insane amounts of xp from the start. Once i made 1-1-1-2 in the tree, i started taking on Bolle Bol missions and I was getting close to 55k exp from a nest. The only time that I had a pet in my group was when i needed more missions and that was in town. In order to get Bolle Bol missions, you need to be able to get level 66 missions or higher.

SEiZe,

Offcourse it can go even faster.... First of all, I didn't have access to lvl60+ missions, and secondly I didn't want to grind ALL day. You probably did.

The point of the thread was to show the holo-hunters how to master the profession in a short amount of time.

What happened to Fort Tusken? I've actually never been there, but everyone says 'I got master Brawler in 2 hours at Fort Tusken'. Is it no good for higher level melee?

Heh, I mastered TKA in 3 days, and I bet I can master swordsman in just 1.

Get doctor buffs, get dancer buffs, get musician buffs, and get some good mind food for in battle heals in a pinch. Oh, and some good armor, most importantly (though I personally don't even use any...hate armor.). Then go to Dathomir, get a couple missions, go out, and kill anything that moves. Don't even bother with a pet...with all the things I listed, you'll be a tank.

Once your buffs wear off, go get more. With all the buffs, you should be able to make Dathomir look like n00bville.

Hate to say it, but I think you guys are smoking too much wacky tobaccy. I live on Dant, have been cranking 800m away or less Hurton Howler missions, I kill them with area attack, kill three and four at a time, get around 40k exp/mission, can do two missions, then have to go back, get two more ... Two missions take under an hour, but travel time, down time for mind, adds up. So lets even say that I could get 100k exp/hr. It takes 4,900,000 to master Swordsman. Sorry guys, but not even counting brawler and novice swordsman, it would take you 49 hours to master swordsman, even if you had the greatest buffs, greatest weapon, mind buffs, all that. Of course mind buffs wear off and take 10 minutes to get them, with doc buffs, everything wears off except action, so you're left having to go back and get that buffed seperately. And no matter what, wounds start adding up and battle fatigue makes it so you can't get a good buff, so you gotta get healed up at a cantina. And when you happen to get a bad action or health buff? And you're stuck with it for two hours?

So, my point is, no way could someone master a combat profession in two days. I don't believe it. If you have some crazy set up of soem friend master pistoleers out there doing stacked bleed shots on crazy tough critters while you finish them off, then mabye you could cut it down to 25 hours? 30 hours? But if you're doing this solo (aside from having doctors and master dancers available at all times to buff you :-) No way could you even do this in three days.

And for you folks talking about using pets, pets eat away at your exp, as do AT-ST's. They can help keep you alive and take some damage for you, but if they're in the fight, they're taking your exp. If you're going after huge exp critters, thats different, but now you better add in some extra time for getting killed, for using up your mind healing your pets 10000 ham.

Flame away, but I say anyone who tells you they did anything close to this in under a week issmoking, and anyone who did it in a week either is a maniac and playing soo much and soo hard that they're a bit whacked themselves, or they're lying too :-)

Beeing a heavy swordsman it's at least extremely easy to levelOTHER combat professions

I mastered TKA in 2-3 days beeing a master heavy swordsman. I seldom took missions, just attacked any lair I saw, usually bol lairs and hurton howlers as they spawn the most mobs. To maximize the xp pr time unit I hit lair before mobs. That wouldmake 7-10 mobs standing ina circle around me while I laid mind bleed 2 and 1 on each mob in the circle. Coming full circle I switched to unarmed and hit every mob once or twice with an unarmed attack. That would make 4K xp pr mob and several hundred K xp pr hour. The bleed damage of course doesn't count as combat damage in the same sense, so unarmed got it all. The defenses from master swordsman + tka + novice fencer, 80% comp armor andno unarmed specials made this perfectly safe with stims and doc buffs with all stats migrated into mind, focus and willpower. At the last day of levling I made 2.4 million xp in a little less than8 hours.

The master brawler title (except the app points)was attained the same way in less than 3 hours.
