I am dabbling in brawler fencer and swordsman to see which one i will pursue.

I leveled up to the 3rd fencer box in about an hour. For the past 3 hours I have been trying to get to to the secone heavy swordsman box. Am i missing something ???

I literally get hit 4 times before i swing, and i am missing 3 in a row on average. Also the damage I am dealing out is not comparable to what i do with my one handed....

Im using cruddy weapons but both have similar damage stats.

does swordsman just really bite until you near master?

what kind of weapon are you using? I am 0/3/1/2 and have been doing very well. I use a 2handed curved sword and hit, i'd say, 90% of the time. And I do great damage.

it had to be the weapon., it was a two handed axe (all i was certified for) but once i hit 2 handed II and got the curved sword i started housing things....

just a slow start i guess - whereas with fencer you were avble to get the curved sword in the very first box.

Yeah, I noticed that swordsman gets a slow start compared to fencer as well. Everything gets better once you get your two-handed curved sword though.

Never had that problem, even with the crappy heavy axe. Its not 0 condition or something like that is it?

you're on valcyn right? (think i've seen you in bestine). If you ever want to hunt look up Kastro in game. Our guild <axis> is currently all melee, and our hunts are a blast

Luckily you didnt have to use a 2h axe all the way to swords IV.

They have moved the certs around since the beginning.

Man, I sympathize, nobody knows what it was like getting 70k weapon xp with a 5.6 18-138 2h axe..... took me 3 weeks... not a grinder though, might have gone quicker.
