Just wondering on peoples thoughts on this... I am a TKM Swordsman 0,4,0,4, with the Melee Speed FS tree, at this point I have better speed than any master without tapes (+2 extra), and I have all the attack's I'd like, the only thing I'm missing is the bonueses for toughness and cob, could this be a rare case where dabbling actually works when somcbining multiple professions ?

Ehh, no, master adds accuracy, without it you have 115.

Also, master will give you +10 more speed, nearing you to the speed cap.

Speedcapped swordsman can beat a TKM anyday, I suggest switching.

And once you cap on speed with swordsman...you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Anyone who has the speed will agree

I am a master swordsman and was master brawler. Dropped the master brawler and, even though I wasn't speed capped, I felt that 5point loss in speed. Now that my experiment is done, rest assured, I am going right back to get my speed up. The FS skills are looking more attractive too, but I am not sure if I feel like grinding that much xp. Time will tell....

FS exp isn't the end of the world. Close, but not quite. Unlock the tree, then pay as you go. What else are you going to do with 900k 2h exp and 300k combat. If you don't really focus on it that much, you can get the tree in 3 weeks to a month. If you focus single minded determination on it, you will get it in a week killing rancors.

I LOVE the quote in your sig. Very dramatic.

You're right, just not a pleasant prospect right now as I get my old template back up to what it needs to be. I've already spent a few days on dant/dath(depending on mood) to have to grind that xp too. After I get finished with the template I am sure within a week or so I will be back in the village.

And thanks, I always liked that quote myself.

what you really miss is damage mig. you'll get beat to hell using swordsman weapons without the defense line and swordsman toughness. i wouldn't suggest that template at all for someone using swordsman.

I did the same NivekAsh and I have to agree... that was probably my worst blunder in SWG to date.... twomonths after I dropped master brawler I'd already cleaned out my non 2h brawler trees (was for some god awful reason thinking of going back up CH) and I realized what I'd been missing- my damage output significantly decreased, I was missing more often...- duh- Master Brawler... so back up the grind I went. I'm currntly on the 3rd melee block of the FS tree and it only gets better with each +3. The way I see it, if you're liking swordsman for PVE then you're most likely going out and killing things... thus the "grind" for the FS should be viewed more as "just doing what you've been doing" with perhaps more gusto/time if you want to actually "grind" it fast. Otherwise- just unlock the tree and the XP and just play your game... once Sword XP is capped head to the village... play your game... etc...

As for sword being good without master... I sure loved it the whole time I was training in it but having been a master for almost 6 months now, I can't even fathom dropping any of the trees in favor of any other combat style. I agree with the idea of filling up the Sword trees and only keeping Meditaion and one of the defense lines of TK if that.

Just my 2 creds

I am happy to report that I got my master brawler back, and yes, I am going to take the melee speed line in FS. It is just worth it, for pvp or pve, to have that extra speed. I am going to do it nice and casual, just kill mokks/jantas, make some money while I am earning the xp. Still a grind, but I come out of it a lot faster, and a lot richer.

Better hurry and unlock if you haven't already. It is available now, but at the end of the week (or is it next week) you will have to wait for almost 2 months.
