Greetings fellow swordsmen. As you know this is not the NS Elder thread. Yet this information is still a part of our profession, because we are the most viable prof to use to solo them. How about compiling all of the info we have amassed into one thread that im sure Gabe will sticky? Start adding your best tips and I will compile them into the Swordsman Guide to High-end Mobs. Thanks.

"hit them more than they hit you until they die" always seems to work for me.

I really think people should get out there and try high-end mobs. Even if you die a few times, it's the best way of learning your proffesion.

- How I fight a ELDER solo -

My template

Doc 0440

Master Swords

Merchant 0001

FS Melee Speed +12

My mods -

Counterattack 25

Bleed resist 25

Acc 25

Def vs Posture Down

Speed +12

Melee Defense 25

Intim/warcry 17

Combat Bleed 19

1st off, I try to get the spawn around her clear, UNLESS she is the easiest to grab without having all her friends agro you. As shes chasing me to a clear spot (away from other "Agro" creatures, npc's) I intimidate her as it seems to last longer. After she is to a clear spot and I feel safe, I will bleed her, both mind hit 1 and 2 as they stack (I use a macro). Shes now bleeding and intim'd for a bit at which point I spam the head hit 3. During the course of me spamming head hits, she will eventually bleed, dizzy or knock me down on occasions. So I always have dizzy packs on a F-Key (I use F-11), use as soon as you get dizzied, clear combat que if you happen to get dizzy and keep clearing until it removes the dizzy. If by some chance I get knocked down while dizzied, I will hitStand(F-12) at a slow pace, if it says "your dizzy and fall to the ground" I will hit it again, But only after it gives me that message. Because if you hit it while you stand you WILL fall down again.

Now for bleeds, I clear them as soon as I get them as well. My 1st aid key is shift-F10, so if I bleed im clearing combat que and using 1st aid. Try to know how long your 1st takes between uses, because you if you can time it good youll be at a good advantage. Generally it takes 3 1st aids to clean off a Elder bleed, but dont worry about the time you lose because it could save your life if you get multiple bleeds.

As far as warcry goes, I use it sparingly. It seems to stick about 80% of the time, if you taken off 75k ham. So every 75k ham Ill use warcry til it sticks. 10-20 seconds of not getting beat up is vital for you to save on wounds and heal your mind if its low.

I imagine most people soloing elders can heal, so I have a macro for clearing combat que and healing myself right away. This is probably the most important part of solo'ing elders. As soon as your ham loses about 33% heal, because they can bleed or hit you in a couple shots that will kill you instantly.

I generally use pre-sliced armor at 80% kintetic, but 88% everything else at least. No PSG's because I have mods in my belt. I dont fight many elders with stun batons so I dont wear stun either, but its nice to keep a spare set of stun armor with you if you got the room.

Anyways heres my macros, my heal has more than what it needs but I dont feel like changing it. lol

Head Hit 3
/melee2hHeadHit3;

Bleed

I have fought elders with three swordsman templates.

Msword/Mbrawler/Mfencer/3240 med / 0004 combat prowess

Msword/Mbrawler/4020 doc/0004 combat prowess

Msword/Mbrawler/4440 Fencer / 0020 pikeman / 2230 med / 0004 combat prowess

The least effective for me was the one with doc. I came very close to dying on several occasions.

The first template was nice, I could solo anything, including Axkva Min, with relative ease.

the third template was about the same, in fact it's almost indenticle, except trading in auto-posture up for more defense mods helps against the NS. You get stunned, blinded, etc, less often.

with the third one, I can do very well. I can dive into a pack of four protectors, and assuming none of them are packing stun batons, I come out on top.

They key to fighting elders is pulling them away from their pack. This is actually kinda easy, since they will usually "see" you before the others do. Not too hard here, then you skitter away to a safer area. When fighting, make sure you are opposite of the direction she will run. Too often I have seen people not position themselves properly, only to have the elder run into another pack of nightsisters who then aggro the person. Sometimes death will result, but not always. The bigger problem here is that Elders that are near death, and not fighting, have a nasty habit of despawning in short order. Has happened to me many times.

Also, sometimes /open will work on nightsisters and you can see the stats of the weapon they are using. A metal staff on an elder will easily be 1800-2800 damage. The stun batons are similiar, only they lack armor piercing. Quite scary, really

1. Intimidate

2. Heal bleeds

3. Heal Damage

4. Heal states (dizzy, etc.)

5. Beat the crap out ofher with headhits

6. Put both mindhit bleeds on her

7. Bring along your mad skills

best elder killer temp--

Master rifles, Master fencer, medic 4440, reflexes 4400

All u need is a dot rifle, conceal shot the elder, stick the dot, and thats the only aggro on u, and then u kite it, burst run if u have to, and it will just start to walk, and badaboom badabing.
