So there's me and a couple of friends attempting to beat up an Elder. This is the fourth time we have been back after cloning to kill this lady, after some rotten luck with Spell-weavers spawning over our heads and the like. Well anyway, this time we have really got her - I'm doing my swordsman thing and repeatedly whacking her over the head with a hammer - my friends are doing their doc thing and keeping me alive. So this Master Rifleman guy turns up, finishes it off, steals the loot, etc ..., but that's unimportant ... I just wanted this Elder dead, she had pushed me over the edge, pressed too many of my buttons (I even remember her name, Palif .. that's how upset she made me). The worst part about the hour and a half it took us to kill her, the many buff packs used, the trips to the cloning centre, the half dead fencer staying just out of reach to keep her busy while I came hurtling back ... summed up in onesentence from this Rifleman left me thinkingis this what Swordsmen are reduced to? Is this how other professions see us:
"You two better watch your tank"
Humph ... I HAVE A NAME YOU KNOW ... silly boys with their guns ... pah
So I vented my frustration on my Guild leader by stoving his head in with a scythe ... he's a Master Commando ............

That really sux.... you know, I have never had someone steal my kill on me, but I thought that the whole "Ninja looting" issue was addressed in EverQuest when it first came out.
Wasn't there supposed to be something in place to stop people from stealing the loot off of a kill thatthey didn't do the mojority of the damage to??
I am not a big fan of Rifleman anyway... the fact that they "Take Cover" hiding in the weeds at a safe distance to make a kill says something about their character; when I make a kill I want to look into its eyes and let it know that it is I who encompasses its' Doom.

That's ok ... that was the best part!
EDIT: Oh as regards the loot system, I think the person that deals the most damage can loot the thing - but we had 3 people get her down to 1/3 of her mind, then the rifleman must have doled out the rest ...
