Thread: going swordsman.... need some help

ok so i decided to pick up master swordsman with my alt. was GONNA go teras kasi but they don't have any good area attacks IMO. i want the area attacks to slaughter beasts for meats quicker.
anyway so i have ABSOLUTELY NO 2-handed experience whatsoever on my character. i do have novice brawler tho 
So i'm going to need some new weapons... I want to know what's gonna be the best possible way to get all my exp to novice swordsman, ie what weapons i should bother with and what ones not to. i knowyou get certified in a differentsword each box of brawler, but i am not sure if they're worth it or not. now i'm not strapped for credits or anything but i'm not gonna spend 200k on something i'm gonna use for 10k experience. I just want to know what would be the best combinations of weapons to use until I get to the powerhammer.

The two-handed curved swords, which you get on your second 2handed box, is what you need to grind to novice swords. It's fast, and a good one can do a nice amount of damage. Good luck!

I second that recommendation. I dropped TKM for Swords 5 days ago and I mastered swords just 2 days ago. Start with the curved sword and find a fast spawn point around a city. I found a 2 person spawn point where they would resparn as soon as they were looted so that went well. Plus, i got lucky and looted the blue rug and orange run adhesive!
Anyways, start with the sword. Then i would recomment the executionner's hack. It's fast and does nice damage. Then, your choice of the slower high damage power hammer, or the faster/medium damage scythe. I have both since the hammer does blast damage and the scythe does kinetic.
What you'll love about swords is the area attack which is very powerfull and the over damage. What you'll miss from TKM is attack precision (the fact that you can hit the head, body and legs of a target to damage a specific HAM pool) and also, the dizzy/blinded/stun/knockdown attacks.

are u sure the 2nd box isn't a 2-handed cleaver? that's what swgcb.yogn.net.... you don't get the curved sword till box 4

Yeah, I'm positive... second box is the 2handed curved sword, 4th box is the cleaver.

You will also find that 2hand lunge will do knock down, especially when you get to 2hd lunge 2.
