I just mastered sword techniques, and I will have Advanced Finesse pretty soon so I can hit more with those fast attacks. So...Offense or Defense?
I'm leaning toward Defense because of the defense vs. posture change and knockdown, and the melee defense bonuses that will stack with 25 Group Melee Defense (squad leader). But I'm not sure if the stats actually have a tangible effect.
On the other hand, Offense gives me melee toughness, and defense vs. status changes that will stack with my Zabrak bonuses. I'm not sure how good Area Attack is (depends on damage and ham costs) but I can see how Area Attack 3 would be useful.
I need to save every last skill point until the bitter end, so I will only go up one tree at a time...any suggestions?

offense first, area twohand is very usefull. Hits hard and have posture change. HAM costs are crazy, like every high-lev style with out swords, but i like it anyway.

I think it really comes down to which mod you prefer first: more toughness, or more melee/ranged defense. The area attacks seem to be the same, though I've noticed that area attack2 eats up more ham than sweep2.

What's the difference in area attack 2 and two-hand sweep 2?
They both say they do an AE attack with posture down.
I went defense first and have two-hand sweep 2 and it's awesome. Seems to have twice the range of a normal attack and does decent damage with a posture down. There'san area where there's an imperial base constantly under attack by rebels (NPC vs NPC) and I go there with a medic and my two-hand sweep 2 and clean house. Is two-hand area attack 2 just the exact same attack?

Okay...it looks like I will be working on Offense. As far as I can tell, Ranged Defense and Melee Defense don't really do anything whereas Toughness has a tangible effect.

It all matters on where you're leveling. If you're fighting more than 1 creature at a time, go with Offense. If you're fighting against 1, maybe you can go with defense. I leveled off killing tuskens for most of my swordsman lvling, and they spawned 2-3 at a time, so I went offense to 1 shot all the rifle holders that spawned. It all matters on how you're going to use your character.

Doesn't Sweep attack only the guy you have targeted, and the other one lowers posture of any enemy in range. I think it's basically Sweep and Spin combined into one move.

area attack is the best by far. Too bad area3 is bugged for me, so I only use area2
