Thread: A question about tanking armor

I'm currently auctioning off some very high quality Ivowi hides and a bidder is offering as part of his offer an advanced composite Krayted chestpiece. (He's not the high bidder so its unlikely this will be an issue for me)

Anyway, he's probably one of the most high quality armorsmiths on our server. He says the piece is 87% effective (post slice) with the highest resist and lowest hams available on my server (Valcyn). He's offered to round out the set with un-Krayted pieces sporting 52% effectiveness and 61% electricty resists.

He say the chest-piece aloneis worth a million credits and that he's been offered $100USD for it.

I don't think he's lying or anything, but can a single piece of armor possibly be worth 1,000,000 credits? I mean, I'm running around in a set of advanced Chitin that cost me 35k and it does okay.

I don't PvP much (very rarely), so I've never seen the need for composite for me. Whaddya think? If he ups his bid and wins, should I consider this one piece in lieu of a million credits cash?

Sounds like Ilok to me lol, Personlly its up to you as only you can way up the Opportuiy cost to yourself.

On one had you have Probably the best Chest peice Valcyn will see for quite awhile, but would you actually want to wear it knowing that it will degrade the more it hits? or you could try to sell it?

On the other hand you will have 1 million credits which can buy you alot to harv's and other things that can generate income for you?

Other way fell free to give me a donation lol

Are the walls that thin around here? Valcyners are supposed to stay in the Valcyn forum.

Well, the problem isn't that it would degrade, armor is made to be used. The question is: Does it do anything for me? If I was a PvP nut, sure, but all I ever do is PvE. Or is it so uber that it would make me viable in PvP and open a new door for me?

That's the worst partabout this game. You bust your ass hustling resources and whatnot. Then, after awhile you're peaking and pulling in a million a week or more. And there's nothing to spend it on.

That's why you have guys offering a million credits for a single armor piece that's just slightly more effective than one you can buy for 75,000cr.

The armor is worthless for pve. The only reason you would want it is for pvp. I have seen advanced ubese (i am on the same server lol) that is 70% kinetic resist and that is basically all you need for pve.

And that's pretty much what I told him. It might be worth that much to a Commado or BH, but it doesn't do anything for someone that has only tried PvP twice, and probably won't again.
