I keep hearing rumors about swordsman becoming tanks after the next patch. I was wondering if there was any truth to it. If so, what exactly is the swordsman going to gain out of this patch? When is this patch going to be implemetned? I think being a tank would own because I would love for all of those ranged players to be dependent on us for a change!

The correspondent on the Creature Handler Forum said the melee classes were going to be beefed up in about a week (which I guess may be even this week- I don't remember if the posting was late last week or early this week). Details are just trickling out as to what that means. Here's hoping!

Not just Swordsman, but hopefully all melee profs will become tanks.

With the recently announced CH nerf, and all the new stuff Brawlers are getting on the TC, I believe the plan is to phase out pets as the main tanks, and put Brawler there in its rightful place.

Some of the changes are insane increases to defence skill mods, and.. yes.. we get.. a new move!

All brawlers get a new move called Center of Being. It raises your ability to counterattack/dodge/block for a short amount of time.

This rumor is causing an influx in Swordsman on Lowca, that and the Sith holocrons..........I loved our little niche in the game, I hope it doesn't become flavor of the month and everyone doesn't jump on the Swordsman band wagon.............

As long as they fill in that stupid Expert Finese box I'll be happy...............

Look at our specials. The area attacks that damaage and lower postures of multiple targest and then spin attacks all give me the impression that we were mean to be the original tanks in the game anyway. Its just the imbalancing of the CH dabblers that have really put us out of business. ATM instead of being the one true tank I'm just a support tank. I stare and my friends Graul Maluer's huge butts as I supposedly attack through them into my target. Hopefully though after the new patch things will change and thier will be less CH's in the gruop, then I will finally be able to fufill the role I think I was really meant for.

I also hope that this doesn't increase the number of us out there too much. I mean seeing a few more fellow swordsman would be nice but I kinda like being one of the few.

Now if only there were more rifleman too suppport me, not enough marksman use mind attacks...hehe oh well

They didnt give us better defenses.. Fencers and TKA got more M Defense and Ranged..

But we did get 20+ more accuarcy..

I meant brawlers in general Lomek. Besides, If Pikeman, Fencer and TKA are getting defence mod boosts, you can bet Swordsman will soon follow.

it's not really a ch problem that makes pets the best tanks, without a pet, i'm still incapable of tanking, it's this game engine thats the real problem, ch is just the excuse, with pet's not being able to tank very well anymore, most melee charcters are pretty much dead, unless these mods their talking about make huge increase in actually defense. when most of the powerful enemies in the game can one hit ya, melee tends to suck bad

I hope not. I chose Swordsman because I don't see that many around. I got tired of range fighting and so far it's been a challenge but it's fun. As far as PvP goes, I don't know. I'll keep away from it for now. Closing in on ranged players is hard.

Did anyone test it ?

I have a char on Testcenter, bot only two handed 4 there not even novice swordsman, and I don't notice any difference when I use center of being
