Hey all,

After messing with my character template for al ong time I"m debating between Master Swordsman/Master Rifleman/Medic or Master Swordsman/Master Doc.

After trying other professions and observing Swordsman I've decided I want to be one.

Since I saw no stickied FAQ, I thought I'd ask a couple of basic questions:

1) Where are the swordsman trainers?

2) what specials should I get first? What boxes should I get?

3) What should I look for in weapons? What's good for a PH versus a curved sword versus an axe etc.?

4) What questions did I not ask but should have? I.e. what would it have been very helpful for you to know at novice but you were to inexperienced to even know you should have asked about it?

Thanks y'all.

Edit: any opinions on the two proposed templates?

Nice to hear... hopefully we'll be fixed someday but stick with it.

1) ALAKHAZAMS SWG site has a list of ALL the trainers.

2) I recomend getting mitigation or OFFENSE fist.. AOES help you kill more things at one time (and you get more toughness) go up to a lair and AOE till your standing on heaps of corpses (dont forget to heal)

3) Go for curved swords fist... the quicker you hit that 1 attack per second speed cap the better off you are... dont even touch powerhamer till your a master (you wont hit anything and the ham cost will kill you with a wasted hit)

4) our bleed WERE hlpful... dont waste the HAM on using them now. I also recomend some sort of ranged weapon (carbines for counter attack )... LUNGE 1 the very first speacial you get will help with the NPCS that run away and try to kite you. ALSO Nothing helps a Melee like THE MEDITATION TREE from teras kasi (med 2 for powerboost med 4 so you never have to heal wounds again)

Hope that helps

Heres my template to give you an idea about my ideas here

1. Go here. http://swg.stratics.com/content/gameplay/atlas/trainers.php?id=390

2. I would go with Techniques line first for speed. Im not too sure about whichline to go with next. In the Defense line you get Melee Mitigation 1 and 2 but in the Offense tree you get the Area attacks which are good for raking in the xp.

3. I suggest staying with the Curved Sword until you hit Master. I go for speed slices on all my weapons. Before Publish 6 I had a Damage sliced PH for applying bleeds, but bleeds are kinda worthless now.

As for the Templates, either one would be good. With the MS/MR/Medic you canhit the target'smind pool from afar then switch to your melee weapon when it get in close. Im a Master Swordman/ Doctor and can tell you this is a great combo. One suggestion I would make though is to pick up Master Brawler, especially if you plan on PvP'ing.

Hey would MS/MB/TKm be a good combo w/ some medic? I plan on dropping CH once I master it in 2 more boxes.

Id go with something else than TKm but that depends on what u want to kill in the game, for pvp TKm is good but id loose the SM (im a SM an proud of it) for mobs id take the meditation tree from TKA and go with a ranged proff or fencer for the migitation stagging and dodge... im currently master heavy swordsman master brawler and 1-4-3-4 fencer (on my way up the fencer tree) and i solo anything on dath except elders, protectors are no problem at all!

so id deside what your goal is first before going for the TKA / swordsman
