Well, it said master swordsman. I am looking for some advice to grind to master. I am starting from the lowest block on brawler. I looked through some of the peminant posts and could not realy find the answers I am looking for. So, my question is, what sword or weapons should I start with and use when? What creatures can I successfuly solo for max exp?

Any help would be great.

Also, I am one of those wierd people who thinks a swordsman's main weapon should be a sword, not a hammer or an axe. If I'm gonna be a swordsman, I want to use something resembling a sword.

The two handed curved sword is your friend. Trust the two handed curved.

Seriously though, its a nasty weapon. Keep an eye out for a speed sliced <2 speed and >250 damage and you will have a very nice weapon on your hands.

I picked one up on the bazaar for 3k, but have spent 10k in the past on swords not quite as effective (lucky find).

You will still be using one of these at master, along with a powerhammer for those high kinetic mobs. (unless scythes arrive soon.)

The profession starts to get impressive at about brawler 3, from there on in every skill block noticably improves your effectiveness.

As to what to kill, I made 400k swordsman exp in one afternoon running torton missions or Talus, buffed and in a group at one point last week. Admittedly this was about 4-5 hours of solid tortons in a 4 person group.

If you have played a combat prof before you should already have some favourite creature victims, as a swordsman with area attacks you will be able to attack multiple targets at once, the rule of thumb is not too take on too many tough targets at once and keep an eye on the action bar, curved sword specials will decimate it unless you take precautions.

There are some excellent guides on the brawler forum covering how to level brawler, so I wont attempt to cover that one. Good luck, heavy swordsman are death on wheels for PvE.

I found that with buffs and techniques 4 I could quite happily slaughter torturs solo, you make great xp and money doing that
