Thread: Request for info from StGabriel (Geonosian Cave-Exploit or Not?)
Agreed.
It feels like an unfair advantage to be able to get the materials when the rest cannot.
Just makes me wonder why the devs even bothered to leave the dungeon in the game in the first place, regardless of safeguards someone will find a way in.

I have the schematic. Just don't wanna risk being banned. If a CSR sees you with the Scythe or you are reported then your get banned. It is not worth it.
Point 1: It is no secret that the caves are currently closed. Anyone who is getting loot from a cave that is closed is exploiting. Why? Because its closed to the public and you cannot go in there without knowingly exploiting. Going around inplace game mechanics that are ment to prevent you from doing something is exploiting a bug to your benefit and will get you banned. This concept is not new to SWG and is known by all that are exploiting. You (who are looting the cave) know you are cheating and if you are caught no more SWG for you....simple as that. Is a sword worth that much when you could just wait a week and get it then? I really don't understand what the rush is.
Point 2: It is known that the cave is opening in 1-2 weeks. Why in the world do you (exploiters) have to rush to the cave to find an exploit to get the cubes to begin with? Why is it so hard to wait a week and get the parts the right way? Is there anything in this game that is so worth it that you are willing to get banned for obtaining it via cheating (especially a sword)?
For those of you who have crafted scythes....I know you may not have known that it was exploited and I do hope you are allowed to keep the scythes because they will be in the game in a week or so anyhow (so it is not totally game breaking...like double slicing is), but realized that it was the result of exploiting (so those of you who are thinking about buying\getting a completed scythe should stop and think before you buy). For those of you who are actually looting the caves....as much as I hate to say it....I do hope you get caught and banned. It is exploiting that has made some parts of this game unbalanced and not fun and those with the mentality that makes them think that cheating is ok need to go.
Im sure I will get flamed...but all this talk about is it an exploit or not is laughable. We all know that the caves are off limits currently....exploiting a bug to allow the contents of the cave to be looted is exploiting...hands down...and will get you banned.

Yes, it's obviously an exploit. It's locked for a reason.
And yes I have heard that CSR's have been active in keeping people out. Are people getting banned? I don't personally know that this is happening but it wouldn't surprise me too much.

Antares, there is a TON of exploiting (aka - cheating)that goes on in this game, most of it done by the same people over and over. What I am looking for here, is a statement saying that "yes, this is exploiting", and "yes, the people involved will be punished for their actions". Rather than the normal looking of the other way......
To be quite honest, it is the people on some boards that are literally bragging and flauntingthat they have done this that has driven me over the edge.
I can imply a lot of things, but again, not all things in this game make a lot of sense. I'd prefer to get a statement, rather than guesstimate what SOE is thinking.....I know it's wrong, I just want them to come out and say it is.
