schematic (sword core schematic) enables the crafting of sword cores. the components for this crafting are resources that your friendly neighborhood WS should have, and looted Geonosian Power Cubes & Solidifying Agents (both from Geonosian Lab off crazed geonos/mercenary sentries).

the "sword" could only mean sword core in this instance if you want a comparison...since you cannot craft geonosian reinforcement cores, nor are they required for anything. (geono looted reinforcement cores can be used in place of any regular reinforcement core, they just tend to not be spectacular enough to justify the effort).

the one common application for these sword cores are for scythes, since they're a very useful weapon & require geonosian sword cores (looted or crafted w/ schematic/cubes/agents). typically crafted cores are far better than the looted ones if using yellow cubes & agents. looted cores can be quite amazing, but only the top 5%...if that...are worth using. looking for something around [50min/50max/-.6+/decent-ideal-range/decent-mind-cost] for the cores, and for the cubes/agents, yellow cubes w/ [3%base effectiveness (if used in interwoven RIS)/+10min dmg/+10max dmg] or higher, or [+10max dmg/+500unit integrity] higher agents.

remember, if the scythe is intended for PVP as many scythes are, higher minimum dmg cores or cubes are more useful than higher dmg maximum counterparts.

considering the finite nature of the scythe schematic (only an elite combat profession may attempt it, and only once), the schematic is generally worth more than the components, which means small factory runs to conserve the 2 uses get you more scythes (but require significantly more components). i would suggest obtaining cores in 6-7core sets (allow you to factory run 2scythes off 1 use, or cubes & agents in 7 item sets (allow you to factory run 6 crafted cores, then 2 scythes off 1 use). this is just preference to me of course, and naturally...if you find some very worthwhile components in smaller sets, by all means make 1scythe off each use if it's going to be a very good scythe.

hope that didn't ramble on too long to make sense...
