This is a newbie question so do not go off on me please!
I would like to use weapons that look like swords instead of the hammers and axes and such for my character. The scythe is nice, but does not look like a straight sword to me. I do not like curvy looking ones either (thought I think there is one named curved that is actually quite straight!)If I choose to use only straight sword looking weapons as an MHS will I be at a disadvantage?
And what is the 'best' sword that I could use instead of the powerhammer and scythe at Master?
Thank you !

Thank you
Would I be at a disadvantage only choosing the straight sword like weapons throughout the skill levels and even at Master? I have not seen any masters on my server with anything but hammers and scythes.

The two handed curved sword can be a vialble weapon for a MHS. I say if it would be fun to you then do it.. that's what the game should be about

I always used a cleaver over the 2h, I always experienced about the same damage output, if not better in PvP.

My one caution would be to make sure you can do more than one kind of damage - e.g. the curved sword (and hey, it is slightly curved!) does kinetic damage, and I like to use it, especially -- as you point out -- because it actually looks like a sword!!! The power hammer, though, does blast damage so I always carry it around as there are masses of critters who have high kinetic resists, and a few who have high general resists but a blast vulnerability (oh how I love to see that on an /examine window!).
