Thread: Yes, Another Template...

Ok. After reading many posts i am still not understanding which defenses stack but here is a template i have made with the assumption that the only defenses that stack are mellee and ranged defense.

Master Swords
Master Brawler
TKA 4/0/0/4
Fencer 4/0/0/0

after that i also have some merchan skills. My ultimate goal is to open a nice little loot shop somewhere.

Artisan 0/0/4/0
Merchant 4/0/1/0

After all that i am left with 2sp. Not too bad but if theres another place that i could put them please let me know... i dont think there is though. Also could someone please clarify for me which defenses stack across different profs and which ones dont? I currently am finished the combat part of my template and did notice and increase in defense with the extra mellee defense points (I am able to solo the geno caves easily ). Any tips/suggestions/flames are welcome

First of all u will miss some medic-skills while doing stuff solo....u asked for caps...melee and range def. caps at +125....def. vs. xyz caps at 90 and dodge/block/counterattack caps at +125...u can stack them with other profs. f.e. dodge fencer and pistoleer...dodge works only with fencer and pistoleer weapons, counterattack with swords and carbines and block with pike and rifle...if u dodge an attack u will not hit...if u counterattack u will not get hit and repeat with an unblockable attack...if u block u will hit but only for 50% of damage...

As a fellow swordsman merchant allow me to add my two cents about your merchant template. It would be much better to go 0410. Planetery ad campaign isn't actually that useful.. most people don't bother with the planetary map as many vendors are unstocked (yes this will be changing soon). But,with efficeny 4 you can place merchant tents, and now that the merchant nerfwill be re-nerfed, efficiency 4 will be the best line to get in order to maximize the ammount of vendors and items on each vendor.

Yes, they are caped at +90,oh and Naruk, how is that current template that u have in ur sig? im thinking of trying that exact one , but alot of people say sword/doc is better for soloing elders and is overall better, so i cant decide :/

for me the template works just sweet...i love to play the game as a swordsman! i can stand my feets most of the time in pvp and kick a$$ in pve...killing elders solo is not the big prob...incl. the ones with scythe or stun-bat...it takes some time and cost weapons and armor...overall not worth for me...i stick with spellweavers, sentinals, protector, rangers and stalkers...way faster to kill...cutting thru a group of 5 stalkers within 2 or 3min....much more loots in the same time i can kill one elder....if u wanne have more power and options for offense try my template...if u dont like it or havin any trouble try doc/sword...both can kick a$$ if u know how to play them...

The defense vs states cap at 90? Are you sure of this? Can you provide proof?

afaik the devs said that there is allways a 10% chance to land a stat...so the cap must be +90...

Argh!


You blew my tempate out of the water, I was Master TK, Master Fencer, 1/0/4/0 Pistoleer and some Medic thrown in for heals!


My defenses were:


90 Defense Blind

95 Defense Dizzy

30 Defense Intimidate

120 Defense Knockdown

100 Defense Posture Change (Down)

65 Defense Stun



Now I'll have to reexamine my numbers and what else may be viable.

Old friend of mine told me that at one of the Cons Devs stated that State defenses cap at 125.. still looking into the matter

Thanks for the info. I might have to rethink my template a bit now that i know that the defense vs whatever can stack. Also as far as they mercant goes, i will only be needing 1 store so the effeciency 4 and getting the tents arent really an issue for me. I'd much rather have my store more visible.
